Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is currently seeking an Associate Structures Mechanic to join our Executive Fleet team in San Antonio, TX. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the production and maintenance processes by providing support in multiple areas.
Position Responsibilities:
Ability to perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas.
Ability and understanding of locating blind holes necessary for installation of new structural items to existing structure
Perform efforts associated with sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structure in accordance with standard repair processes
Demonstrate the capability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specification, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modification/repair
Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of structural parts
Use of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers
Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate on-line parts and discrepancy requests
Ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds
Ability to work various shifts and/or an alternate baseline schedule that may frequently change to support mission requirements and may include weekends and holidays. Mission requirements and/or workload may require both scheduled and unscheduled overtime
Familiar with Hazardous Energy and Lock Out /Tag systems applications to ensure working environment is deemed safe for access and job task performance

Full-time Description
Maintenance Technicians are responsible to the Maintenance Supervisor and shall assure that the procedure outlined in this manual as well as all FAA Regulations and manufacturer's instructions are complied with. In addition to all responsibilities listed below, work involves the responsibility of performing routine maintenance, and major inspections on HondaJet, Piper, TBM, Pilatus, LearJets, Beechjet, Citations and other corporate aircraft. Troubleshooting, repair, and modification of aircraft systems and engines is accomplished by this position. In addition, component removal and reinstallation, operational checks, leak checks, and engine runs are all within the responsibility of the AMT. The AMT is responsible for using sound judgment and technical aptitude to make decisions regarding maintenance, sequence, and techniques, troubleshooting and discrepancy resolution.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Ensure that all repairs are accomplished by approved methods and techniques and in accordance with the specifications set forth by the manufacturer in the service manuals, the Federal Aviation Regulations, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives and other data approved by the FAA administrator.
Responsible for planning and coordinating the activities of their shop or area, so as to minimize delays and increase production and efficiency.
Ensure that all work accomplished will be completed in strict accordance with the manufacturer's maintenance and repair instructions and TITLE 14 CFR part 43.
Exercise all reasonable care to protect all parts- sub assembles; major assembles and completed units against loss or damage.
Ensure that all applicable repair station forms utilized are properly completed.
Ensure good housekeeping rules are observed and that all shop-working areas are kept clean and orderly at all times.
Ensure that proper tools and equipment are available, and those tools are maintained in serviceable condition and ensure that any tool which is found unserviceable for any reason will be removed from service. He will be responsible for good housekeeping and will ensure that housing and facilities and safety precautions are adequate.
Ensure proper handling of parts and the preservation of all units or parts during the work process through the maintenance department.
Required to be thoroughly familiar with the requirements of the repair station manual, FAA Regulations, Airworthiness Directives and Advisory Circulars, Manufactures Service Letters/Bulletins and engineering orders.
Communicates with the maintenance lead technicians concerning progress of the assigned work.
Perform airframe and powerplant repairs, inspections and modifications.
Removal and disassembly of defective parts, assembly and installation of replacement parts and testing of system.
Interpret technical manuals, drawings and blueprints.
Ensure that all discrepancies are signed off with all the information completed, such as part numbers, maintenance manual, ATA and Chapter, etc.
Displays and promotes a positive attitude toward work and other employees.
Use experience and technical expertise to assist when necessary to meet completion and production schedules and produce the quality our company has come to expect.
Assure that all safety precautions are taken and that available protection devices are properly used at all times when applicable to the tasks performed, in order to reduce the risk of possible injury and health problems resulting from performing assigned tasks.
Identify any employees' problems and concerns and deal with them, if unable to solve the problems, forward them to management.
Technicians shall have all their work inspected (except for off-site maintenance, see off-site maintenance requirements) by an appropriately rated inspector as listed on the Roster of Management Supervisory and Inspection Personnel at the completion of each task.
Participates with management to strategize and implement new maintenance tactics.
Provide leadership and communication to subordinates and employees.
Performs related work as assigned.
Requirements
Education Requirement:
Seven or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate (Preferred).
Experience Requirement:
Seven or more years demonstrated experience in aircraft maintenance inspections and repairs.
Strong understanding in 135 and 145 repair station operations/regulations required.
Other Requirements:
Clean Driving record.
Able to pass a background check.
Ability to pass a drug screening test.

Under general supervision, is responsible for performing inspections and diagnosing mechanical defects and problems on Police Department helicopter equipment, including airframe and engines. Exercises no supervision. Work Hours
7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday
Essential Job Functions
* Inspects and diagnoses mechanical defects and problems on helicopter equipment, including airframe and engines; perform mechanical repairs or adjustments as appropriate.
* Analyzes engine or operational component failures; determines problems and causes; removes and performs overhaul of component parts as
required; re-installs parts after repair; involves frequently lifting and carrying component parts weighing up to 50 pounds and greater than 50 pounds with assistance.
* Performs preventive maintenance on equipment including lubricating and replacing worn parts, checking fuel and condition of fueling equipment.
* Performs scheduled and unscheduled inspections; records inspections performed and helicopter daily flight patterns, time and length of
flight.
* Operates and maintains a variety of shop equipment including a torque wrench, air grease gun, drill press, welder, dial indicator and deep
cycle analyzer to be utilized during inspections, maintenance and repairs.
* Maintains repair and maintenance records, manuals and air worthiness for the helicopter airframes and the engines.
* Orders supplies and equipment for the helicopters; maintains inventory of parts supply and fuel supply; contacts vendors.
* Maintains and cleans the shop and aircraft hangar area.
* Stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of helicopter/aircraft maintenance and repair.
* Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements
* High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
* Three (3) years' experience in helicopter airframe and power plant maintenance on helicopters.
* Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.
