Duties & Responsibilities: Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic The A&P Mechanic is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of flight school aircraft. The mechanic will be accountable for completing all work in accordance with AeroGuard Company procedures and requirements, as well as all applicable regulatory requirements. We have four different tech levels with a salary range of $25-48 per hour. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Must have strong interpersonal and team building skills. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have the ability to read and understand technical data such as maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, engineering drawings, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives. Job DescriptionDescription The primary role of the Mechanic Lead is to diagnose and repair fleet and equipment and supervise the work of the mechanics and mechanic helpers. Essential Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, adjust and repair power train, electrical, suspension, brake, hydraulic and air systems on vehicles and equipment. Perform on-road emergency service calls. Maintain a complete inventory system through recording of all expenditures and income of each vehicle, maintenance equipment, fuel, repair parts, supplies, etc. Implement and maintain a mechanic training and certification program to teach needed technical skills to mechanics and mechanic helpers. Oversee shop procedures to ensure work is completed correctly and in a timely manner. Assist with fleet service purchases, including parts, tools, and shop supplies. Examine reports for accuracy on each vehicle and piece of equipment repaired; write reports on vehicles and equipment repaired. Keep repair records; perform preventative maintenance on all company vehicles and order repair parts. Check all repair work performed in shop for completeness. Observe and comply with hazardous waste and material handling and disposal procedures and regulations as set forth by local, state and federal environmental and health agencies. Observe and comply with all applicable safety regulations, rules, policies and procedures. Maintain clean, safe and organized work space. Maintain collaborative working relationship with drivers, operators and coworkers and communicate timeline for downed vehicles. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of: Diesel and/or compressed natural gas engines, heavy equipment mechanical components and parts. Methods, tools, equipment and systems used in the inspection, diagnosis and repair of trucks and heavy equipment. Vehicle computer diagnostic systems and fleet management software. Federal, state and local job site health and safety rules, regulations and best practices Ability to: Plan, organize and direct the work of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled employees engaged in repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. Prepare reports and maintain accurate records. Maintain a positive attitude with coworkers. Proactively establish trust and credibility with coworkers by maintaining accountability. Contribute to the team dynamic by promoting inclusion, support and collaboration amongst coworkers. Take initiative, self-manage time and productivity through multitasking. Education, Training & Experience Six years of related experience servicing diesel engines required. High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience in the resource recovery industry a plus. Duties & Responsibilities: Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic The A&P Mechanic is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of flight school aircraft. The mechanic will be accountable for completing all work in accordance with AeroGuard Company procedures and requirements, as well as all applicable regulatory requirements. This is a 5 day shift from 4:00 am to 2:30 pm. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Must have strong interpersonal and team building skills. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have the ability to read and understand technical data such as maintenance manuals, parts catalogs, engineering drawings, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives. Must have knowledge of federal regulations relating to Title 14 parts 43 and 91. Assure that work areas are kept clean and organized. Must be able to be flexible and work all shifts on an as needed basis. REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION Airframe and Powerplant license required at the time of hire. EXPERIENCE A minimum of two recent and consecutive years of GA experience as a certificated A&P. Experience on Piper aircraft is preferred. G1000 experience is a plus. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Can work independently with the ability to make airworthiness decisions. Ability to manage workflow and adjust priorities as needed. Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and perform maintenance on company aircraft in accordance with applicable technical data and FAA regulations. Will be required to make aircraft logbook entries and release aircraft for return to service. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office and able to learn Talon RMS computer maintenance program. Must have basic hand tools. EQUIPMENT/MACHINERY USED General office equipment such as facsimile, copier, personal computer, etc. Vehicle operation such as company van, truck, golf cart, aircraft etc. as required. Will require the use of various pieces of shop equipment and tools. Exposure to solvents, aviation gasoline, etc. PHYSICAL AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS Will be working in many environments inside and outside of the facility. Will have extensive exposure to aircraft, simulators, outside conditions and equipment. May have some medium lifting up to 50 lbs. May require prolonged periods of sitting or standing, bending and stooping. OTHERS Extreme attention to detail.
