We're recruiting candidates for our upcoming training class beginning as soon as April 2025. Training runs for 8 weeks, typically Monday through Friday 8:30am-5:00pm, and is conducted at our Corporate Offices in Honolulu, Oahu. This position is located in Honolulu.
Aircraft Mechanic Duties:
* Is responsible for accomplishing assigned maintenance, preventative maintenance and repair work on Hawaiian Airlines aircraft(s)
* Makes certain that all safety and accident prevention measures are adhered to and corrective action taken as warranted
* Inspects parts, sub-assemblies and completed assemblies only to the extent necessary to determine, accomplish and approve own work
* Responsible for the repairing, servicing and maintenance of aircraft systems, powerplants, airframes, avionics and components
* Performs machine tool work in connection with the above mechanic maintenance work
* Accountable for production and assistance in interpretation and resolution of aircraft discrepancies
* Initiate, execute and sign forms, tags and other paperwork in accordance with the appropriate maintenance manuals. Review all paperwork for completeness and signatures. Release aircraft for service in accordance with Hawaiian Airlines maintenance logbook procedures
* Shall be required to return an aircraft to service after maintenance had been performed as allowed by the GMM and the privileges of the FAA Airframe and Powerplant license
* Accountable for the general upkeep of ground equipment in support of all maintenance activities assigned to them
* Accountable for proper use and maintenance of equipment that's used to service, maintain and repair aircraft
Pay and Benefits
* The pay rate for this position is $36.33/hr which includes the A&P license premiums and skill pay. Medical, dental and vision benefits are provided in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
* Receive a $10,000 sign on bonus when you're hired as an Aircraft Mechanic at our Honolulu station.
Successful candidates will also be eligible for a generous relocation assistance program.
* DOT Regulation, 14 CFR Part 120 Subpart E 120.105-120.109 identifies this position as performing safety sensitive functions. Prior to any offer of employment or transfer into this position you will be required to submit to a DOT Pre-employment drug test for evidence of Marijuana, Cocaine, Opiates, Phencyclidine (PCP), and Amphetamines or a metabolite of those drugs.

Mechanic I Functions: The Contractor Aircraft Mechanic I, in addition to the specified corrosion functions and tasks, shall be trained and qualified as Collateral Duty Inspectors (CDI) in accordance with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program 4790 and all local and command requirements. Southern Airways/Mokulele is seeking dependable, professional individuals to fuel the aircrafts at our airport stations. Candidates who know airport regulations and love to provide excellent customer service will enjoy working in this position. Night availability needed.
General duties include but are not limited to:
Fuel and de-fuel aircraft in a safe and efficient manner.
Ensure correct loading and balancing of fuel. Follow safe loading/unloading procedures to correctly load the tanker truck.
Verify truck is full for the subsequent shift. Properly and completely detail pass-down logs to subsequent shift.
Accurately account for all fuel transactions. Complete daily fuel reporting forms/sheets and verify daily transactions are balanced and complete.
Maintain equipment in a clean and functional condition; notify appropriate supervisors/maintenance of equipment repair needs and/or work with local mechanics to ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner.
Complete daily truck inspection sheet and ensure all fluids are topped-off, all lights are properly functioning, and truck is ready for legal operation. Ensure any necessary items needed for operation are promptly addressed.
Ensure wing mats, ladders, and ancillary equipment are in good working order and are properly used when fueling.
Communicate and confirm on a regular basis with dispatch to ensure that the correct product is delivered on time.
When instructed by supervisor, assist with wheelchair ramp movements and passenger wheelchair pushes.
When instructed by supervisor, between fueling, assist with marshalling aircraft, installing wheel chocks and tail stand, and loading and unloading bags.
Ensure FAA, Airline, and airport regulations are followed.
Enforce safety/security measures and protect sensitive zones.
Ensuring excellent customer service is extended to all, including co-workers and external individuals.

General duties include but are not limited to:
Fuel and de-fuel aircraft in a safe and efficient manner.
Ensure correct loading and balancing of fuel. Follow safe loading/unloading procedures to correctly load the tanker truck.
Verify truck is full for the subsequent shift. Properly and completely detail pass-down logs to subsequent shift.
Accurately account for all fuel transactions. Complete daily fuel reporting forms/sheets and verify daily transactions are balanced and complete.
Maintain equipment in a clean and functional condition; notify appropriate supervisors/maintenance of equipment repair needs and/or work with local mechanics to ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner.
Complete daily truck inspection sheet and ensure all fluids are topped-off, all lights are properly functioning, and truck is ready for legal operation. Ensure any necessary items needed for operation are promptly addressed.
Ensure wing mats, ladders, and ancillary equipment are in good working order and are properly used when fueling.
Communicate and confirm on a regular basis with dispatch to ensure that the correct product is delivered on time.
When instructed by supervisor, assist with wheelchair ramp movements and passenger wheelchair pushes.
When instructed by supervisor, between fueling, assist with marshalling aircraft, installing wheel chocks and tail stand, and loading and unloading bags.

* Previously Safe for Flight certified
* Must be eligible for Common Access Card (CAC)
* Must be deployable to locations Outside Continental U.S. (OCONUS)
Employment is contingent on a) your ability to provide appropriate proof of your identity and eligibility to work in the United States; (b) your references and any background check being satisfactory to the Company; (c) you successfully passing a pre-employment drug test; (d) your ability to get a required clearance by your effective start date, if needed, and (e) KAI commencing performance on this contract.
