Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics and other drawings, diagrams and specifications. 6. Prepares records and service reports. 7. Uses chain falls, hoists and chokers to safely lift large heavy components into position. 8. Provides guidance to apprentices and/or students as required. 9. Knowledge, skill and ability to evaluate equipment for either repair or replacement and determine the amount of time and materials necessary to accomplish the task with least downtime of equipment. 5. You are responsible for the maintenance, modification, and servicing of aircraft and aircraft components following the manufacturer's specification and FARS. Essential Duties of The A&P Mechanic Perform routine scheduled maintenance and aircraft inspection by ACC's and current manufacturers' specifications. Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Modifies aircraft systems or components following drawings, engineering orders, and technical publications. Assemble and install electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories using hand and power tools. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs to minimize aircraft downtime. Requires ability to travel. Review maintenance records and flight logs to schedule prescribed maintenance checks and overhauls. Process all necessary documentation and paperwork for processes completed. Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality, safety, and sanitation regulations.
