As a Senior StressAnalyst you will be responsible for performing preliminary and detailed level stress analysis of missile flight structures and mechanisms, electronic components, and ground support equipment using standardized processes and tools. You will work in a multi-disciplined team environment to help with structural design trades and preliminary and detailed design/analysis activity.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Modeling and analyzing test components for dynamic behavior and characteristics.
• Preparing technical charts and represent the organization in design reviews and outside contracts.
• Supporting structural load test definition, requirements development, monitoring, data reduction, and comparison to analysis effort.
• Collaborating with designers in developing the most practical design, and selection of materials for primary and secondary structures with adequate structural margins of safety, good load paths, low weight, and high producibility.
• Coordinating with program to forecast level of effort for long term analysis needs.

Basic Qualifications
• Experience with Abaqus CAE, NX Simcenter 3D, or equivalent finite element modeling tool.
• Knowledge of spacecraft or aircraft structural dynamic methods and testing.
• Static, vibration, acoustic, modal, or shock analysis/test experience.
• A bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace program or equivalent from an accredited college/university and/or equivalent education or experience.
• Must be a US Citizen, and hold an Active Secret Clearance.
Desired skills
• A Master's degree is strongly preferred for this position.
• Non-linear, fracture & fatigue, and buckling analysis experience.
• Mechanisms, antenna, electronic component, ground support, hoisting, and test support equipment, and composite materials analysis experience.

Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA) is seeking a Senior Engineering Consultant to join our Nuclear business unit. The position will be based in one of our main offices: San Jose, CA; Centennial, CO; or Huntersville, NC. Remote work will also be considered.
The ideal candidate will possess a background in mechanics/structural engineering and be responsible for engineering consulting work supporting the energy industry. The role will be to support project teams in the areas of finite element modeling, stress analysis, fatigue and fracture mechanics and related fields.
The work environment is a dynamic team based on project requirements. Each project team is usually led by an industry expert and composed of engineers from various engineering disciplines such as stress analysis, fracture mechanics, structural dynamics, and material science.
Primary Responsibilities:
Stress analysis of power plant structures, pressure vessels, piping systems, rotating equipment and other power plant components using both classical and numerical methods
Stress analyses using the guidelines in the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
Supporting and leading the FEA team
Support fatigue management programs for various components
Participation in design and repair projects of pressure vessel/piping components and
Communication with clients to provide engineering problem solution, results and analyses
Required Skills/Qualifications:
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
5+ years (with MS) or 7+ years (with BS) of related engineering experience
Advanced skills in ANSYS APDL/Workbench (ABAQUS is a plus)
Advanced finite element analysis of vessel, piping, valves and other nuclear components
Experience with mechanical, thermal, and modal analyses, and non-linear metallic material models
Assist and lead in maintaining company standards related to finite element analysis
Proficiency in Section III, Div 1 of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC)
Experience in Section III, Div 5 and Section XI, Div 1 & 2 of ASME BPVC is a plus

+ Evaluation of hydraulic transients, evaluation of piping systems for thermal stratification effects, operability evaluations, and qualification of piping for hydrodynamic loads.
+ Pipe rupture evaluations, evaluation of pipe wall thinning due to flow accelerated corrosion (FAC) or microbiological induced corrosion (MIC), and pipe flaw evaluations.
Position Specific Details
Provides senior level technical direction and supervision to the project team members in his/her discipline. Establishes project task schedules and budgets for his/her discipline to meet overall project requirements. Coordinates activities between disciplines. Is responsible for successful completion of project deliverables to meet all technical, quality, and project controls expectations. Serves as a technical liaison with the client and a lead technical resource on projects.
Lead engineers support engineering design projects with the following responsibilities:
+ Reviews complex calculations and approves simple calculations. Provides technical guidance to project team members. Ensures that calculations are technically sound and in accordance with project requirements.
+ Reviews and approves simple system/structural designs and prepares and reviews complex system/structural designs to ensure completeness, accuracy, quality, constructability, and operability.
+ Performs engineering review of drawings. Reviews design input for complex system/structures. Defines client expectations for drawings. Coordinates interface between design and engineering. Actively participates in design reviews to ensure quality, constructability, and operability.
+ Prepares and reviews major system, installation, and material specifications. Defines technical and commercial requirements, including scheduling of vendor submittals needed for design input.
+ Prepares bid evaluations for complex systems and installation scopes. Participates in bid negotiations with vendors. May evaluate change orders on behalf of the client.
+ Prepares and reviews single-discipline, complex reports/studies. Participates in the preparation of multi-discipline reports. Reviews studies and reports to ensure that conclusions are technically sound, cost-effective, and clearly communicated.

As the StressAnalyst Staff you will be responsible for performing preliminary and detailed level stress analysis of missile flight structures and mechanisms, electronic components, and ground support equipment using standardized processes and tools. You will work in a multi-disciplined team environment to help with structural design trades and preliminary and detailed design/analysis activity.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Performing stress analysis and providing technical mentorship to junior analysts and actively support knowledge transfer.
• Modeling and analyzing test components for dynamic behavior and characteristics.
• Preparing technical charts and represent the organization in design reviews and outside contracts.
• Supporting structural load test definition, requirements development, monitoring, data reduction, and comparison to analysis effort.
• Collaborating with designers in developing the most practical design, and selection of materials for primary and secondary structures with adequate structural margins of safety, good load paths, low weight, and high producibility.
• Coordinating with program to forecast level of effort for long term analysis needs.

Basic Qualifications
• Experience with Abaqus CAE, NX Simcenter 3D, or equivalent finite element modeling tool.
• Knowledge of spacecraft or aircraft structural dynamic methods and testing.

• A bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace program or equivalent from an accredited college/university and/or equivalent education or experience.
• Must be a US Citizen, and hold an Active Top Secret Clearance.
