Aircraft structure mechanic job description

Contractors will be performing Modifications on CH-47 aircraft, structures mechanics will be modifying, fabricating and installing the new parts needed. They may be moved to different projects down the line as well. NO TOOLS REQUIRED! If interested, please APPLY ASAP OR CALL !!

Shift :

1st shift - Monday - Friday 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM (No OT Available - 40 hour weeks)

Terms :

6+ month contract (could bring top performers direct down the line)

Requirements :

• 4+ years of Aircraft Sheet Metal experience with at least 2 years of recent (last 5 years) military aircraft experience.
• Helicopter experience preferred, but not required
• Modification experience preferred, but not required
• Military Vets with Helicopter experience HIGHLY Desired
• CH-47 experience is nice to have

Pay Rate :

$30.00 - $34.00 an hour

Per Diem Breakdown :

$15.00 taxable / $15.00 - $19.00 Per Diem

• 3 years of experience in aircraft structures a must
• A & P license or military aircraft experience a plus
• Must be able to use the following tools: drill motor, 90 degrees drill motor, rivet gun and sets, dye grinders, cleco pliers, countersink cages and standard hand tools
• Knowledge of aircraft hardware and materials and processes
• Ability to identify, install and remove common aircraft fasteners
• Basic print reading skills and layout skills
• Strong work ethic and integrity

The Structures Mechanic performs functions, or is immediately available to perform functions that are considered safety sensitive for the purpose of maintenance or preventive maintenance as defined by 14 CFR 121. Therefore, employment and continued employment with the company is conditioned upon full compliance with the company's Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program as required by 14 CFR Part 120, 135, 145 and 49 CFR Part 40.

• Positions, installs, and assembles parts and subassemblies by reading / following work instructions and using templates (as required).
• Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
• Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturers instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Works from assembly instructions, parts lists, wire lists, diagrams, verbal instructions and notes to assemble, wire and install a wide variety of components.
• Selects components to be integrated into subassembly and assembly units.
• Utilizes small hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, torque wrenches, cutters of various types, and other standard wiring and assembly tools.
• Follow proper paperwork and documentation procedures.
• Comply with safety and company policies and use protective equipment as required.

MINIMUM:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
• Must have ability to read and comprehend blueprints, work instructions, and other technical data
• Must possess good interpersonal skills with strong desire to work in a teamwork environment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in various units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

PREFERRED:
Candidates with at least three (3) years work experience in a complex assembly environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Subject to continual loud noises
• Visual acuity must be a minimum of 20 / 40 corrected
• Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, stand for prolonged periods of time; climb steps, ladders and / or service stands
• Must be able to safely work around hazardous chemicals, solvents, resins and adhesives
