We are searching for a talented and self-motivated A&P Technician to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: Responsibilities * Primary authority and responsibility for the airworthiness of the aircraft. * Act as an experienced A&P Technician, supporting a team of A&P technicians and support personnel. Support and directly perform daily task assignments for all work performed on aircraft. * Perform day-to-day aircraft build and maintenance operations and ensure that all work is completed in accordance with FAA and NASA regulations, company policies, and industry standards. * Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians as required to ensure proper training and compliance with safety protocols. * Perform and oversee scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on aircraft as required. Assess and disposition aircraft squawks. * Execute, support and manage complex aircraft modifications, retrofits, and system upgrades, ensuring all changes meet regulatory standards and aircraft specifications. * Pre-inspect work of others prior to submitting to quality assurance inspection. * Final Inspect work of others if required and stamp off on the final product allowing installation into higher assemblies. * Ability to achieve an internal QA stamp authority for inspection of specific aircraft parts, subsystem, and systems. * Ensure accurate documentation and completion of all maintenance records and logbooks per FAA and company requirements as required. * Monitor aircraft systems, engines, airframes, and components to detect potential issues before they become critical problems. * Ensure all maintenance practices comply with FAA Part 25 repair station guidelines, OEM requirements, and Aurora Flight Sciences safety and EH&S policies. * Understanding of the different requirements for producing both flight worthy production parts and research & development parts respectively. * Understand and maintain the separation of flight and not for flight items. * Strictly adhere to all FOD control policies and procedures. * Champion and work in a shadowed toolbox environment. * Utilize a tool sign in and out process for tools brought into the workspace that are not shadowed. * Must adhere to all chemical safety procedures, chemical cabinet awareness cleanliness and organization. * Perform and support safety protocols and best practices for the maintenance team as required. * Perform final inspections to verify that all repairs and modifications are completed to the highest standard of airworthiness and meet design and quality requirements. * Provide subject matter expertise for troubleshooting and resolving complex mechanical, avionics, and structural issues. * Stay current with technical manuals, bulletins, and manufacturer updates specific to relevant aircraft systems. * Document maintenance procedures for the experimental systems and modified aircraft in a supplemental maintenance manual as required. * Support the liaison between the maintenance team, engineering, and management to ensure all technical needs are met. Provide design review feedback for integration, maintainability, and compliance with FAA airworthiness standards. * Coordinate with the Crew Chief and Materials Control to ensure timely ordering and availability of parts, tools, and materials required for maintenance, modifications, and aircraft operation. * Assist in budget planning and control by monitoring costs associated with labor, materials, and third-party services if asked. Minimum Requirements * Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.). * FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License required. * Valid Driver's License required and ability to obtain airport access card. * Must be a US Person. * Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship. Responsibilities (include but are not limited to) : Operates all equipment in a boiler plant to produce and control the amount of steam necessary to meet demands. These demands are significantly affected by the large amounts of steam or high pressure temperature water provide by the boiler plant. Ignites fires, puts boilers in service, and closes down boilers. Periodically makes rounds of the plant to visually check equipment to see that is operating properly. Maintains constant observation of flow meters and charts to determine how much steam is being produced, whether it is meeting or exceeding demands, how much fuel is being used, etc. Fires up to take boilers off the line. Adjusts firing controls, fuel feeds, and air drafts for best combustion efficiency. Operates numerous auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, water heaters, fans, and de-aerating equipment. Collects samples of boiler water, performs prescribed tests, and determines amount of chemicals to be fed into boilers for treatment of water and control of corrosion and chemical concentrations. Maintains constant observation for defects in the system. In the event problems arise, either repairs malfunctions or notifies the supervisor. Follows standard emergency procedures until trouble can be corrected. Maintains logs, records, and other plant data as required. Performs routine operational maintenance, e.g., cleans burners, oils and grease moving parts, packs valves and pumps, cleans oil strainers, etc. May be required to locate and repair limited electrical problems in oil burning controls, safety devices, etc. Operates various types of air conditioning and cooling systems.     PENDING CONTRACT AWARD Job Title: Aircraft Mechanic II (Avionics/Electrician) th MXG) Aircraft Mechanic II (23022): Aircraft Mechanics II must have a combination of experience to repair engines, sheet metal, and structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet the assigned missions. Additionally provides input to Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC), Estimated Cost of Damage preparation (ECOD) and assist in the recommendation of changes to (MWO). Individuals must be able to prioritize workloads and are required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks. Mechanic IIs can inspect Mechanic IIs and Is. This mechanic maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components, applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation, and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts, requires broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair, must have basic knowledge of electrical theory, must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers. This job requires working knowledge of technical publications. The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects. May require specialization in sheet-metal, electric work, avionics or other aircraft systems related disciplines. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Aircraft Mechanic II (Avionics/Electrician): Electrical Experience: Minimum of six years total experience in aircraft maintenance as an aircraft avionics/electrician with one year on F-15 aircraft. The Contractor shall have the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts and accessories/components and the skill to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications. The Contractor shall also have the skill to identify and isolate integrated systems malfunctions and analyze performance and operate integrated avionics systems to determine operational condition per operational checks. Experience using specialized tools required for military aviation electrical connector assembly/disassembly and other associated electrical terminating devices is required. Aircraft modification and operational checks experience required. Contractor must have experience in electrical harness fabrication and braiding. Electrical Knowledge: The Contractor shall have the ability to follow and accomplish tasks in accordance with existing published technical data. The Contractor shall have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications required to accomplish maintenance tasks and modifications. Knowledge is mandatory of electrical, electronic, microelectronic, mechanical and indicator principles theory, and application relating to electrical systems; concepts and application of maintenance directives; meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics; using and interpreting testing and measuring devices; and proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials. Education: High school diploma, or equivalent, with successful completion of related military or commercial courses. Courses in basic electronics, mathematics, general science, physics, and mechanics are desirable. Other: Normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123, Medical Examinations and Standards is mandatory for this specialty. Responsibility: Performs requirements in accordance with the procedures established in the PWS. Performs diagnosis and corrective actions, disassembles, inspects, evaluates, and accomplishes necessary repairs, lays out work according to technical instructions and technical directives. Determines what repairs, modifications, and part replacements are required. May be required to verify work performed by another for which he/she is qualified to perform. Perform other tasks as directed. Preferred Qualifications: Eight or more years' experience in aircraft maintenance Three or more years' experience on F-15 aircraft Advanced Corrosion Control Course Basic Qualifications: Six years' Aviation Maintenance experience One year's experience on F-15 aircraft Must be able to work shift schedules as required per Performance Work Statement (PWS) Must be able work work-week schedules i.e. M-F, Sn-Th or as required per PWS Basic Corrosion Control Course.
