POSITION PURPOSE Performs preventive maintenance, repair, modifications and other maintenance of aircraft, components and related equipment in accordance with standards and regulations. The C-26 Metroliner Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic AM-1 (FAA A&P). Performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on C-26 Metroliner aircraft. (Level of Mechanic is based on years of specific C-26 hands-on A&P mechanic experience). An (FAA) A&P Certificate is Required. US Citizenship is Required to obtain the US Govt Secret Security Clearance and base access for this work site. Hands on C-26 Metroliner experience is strongly preferred, (details are below in Minimum Requirements). Is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness. The mechanic will ensure that all vehicles remain in safe, operational condition and comply with state and federal transportation regulations. This role is essential to supporting the reliable and timely transportation of clients and staff between sites and community-based services. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance & Repairs - Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and necessary repairs on passenger vans (e.g., oil changes, brake servicing, fluid checks, tire rotations, battery testing). - Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform repairs in-house when appropriate. - Coordinate and oversee complex repairs with external service providers when necessary. Documentation & Compliance - Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and repair documentation. - Ensure all vans pass state inspections and meet Department of Transportation (DOT) and OSHA safety standards. - Notify the Safety Manager of any vehicles that are out of service or pose a safety risk. Inventory & Parts Management - Track inventory of tools, parts, and maintenance supplies; make recommendations for reordering as needed. - Order and replace necessary parts in a timely and cost-effective manner, with approval from the Safety Manager. Fleet Monitoring & Reporting - Assist in tracking mileage, service intervals, and maintenance schedules for each van. - Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections as requested. - Recommend vehicles for replacement based on age, mileage, and repair history. Collaboration - Work closely with the Safety Manager and Transportation Staff to schedule maintenance without disrupting service delivery. - Participate in fleet safety planning and emergency preparedness related to transportation operations.
