Summary : The Mechanical Engineering Intern will support Airstream's Product Development & Engineering (PD&E) team by creating high-quality 3D models, drawings, and design documentation using Autodesk Inventor. This role contributes directly to the design, testing, and continuous improvement of chassis, body structures, interior components, and mechanical systems. Successful interns demonstrate strong initiative, accountability, and problem-solving skills, building a foundation for long-term success at Airstream. Aid in the methodology, design, and practice of product testing to validate design intent, consumer safety, and overall quality as well as compliance to applicable regulatory requirements. 6. Research warranty, Customer Service, & Operations feedback related to vehicle Mechanical Systems to identify opportunities for improvement in current or future designs. Starting wage of $22.76 with a 180-day top out at $25.38. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prep and install furniture, wall panels, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies with a high degree of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Review, understand, and work with other vehicle mechanical systems and Design Teams to ensure that Electrical Systems integrate and perform according to design intent with a high level of design quality, performance, and ease of manufacture. Assist with the implementation of electrical systems into Production including the training of Production line Associates as needed. Research warranty, customer service, and operations feedback related to electrical systems to identify opportunities for improvement in current or future designs. Work closely with codes and compliance team to validate testing requirements for new product implementations Review product designs and highlight those areas that are critical to quality relating to life safety, electrical, and mechanical Education and/or Experience : Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or combination of education and applicable experience. Skills/Qualifications: Proven experience in electrical system design, implementation, troubleshooting & repair, or another related electrical field Strong computer skills including proven experience in use of 3D Computer Modeling and electrical related software (Autodesk Inventor preferred) and in the creation of related documentation Proven experience in the proper use of common lab & measurement equipment used for the evaluation of electrical systems and circuitry Ability to find solutions to problems using creativity, reasoning, and past experiences along with the available information and resources. Must have the ability to assess a situation, seek multiple perspectives, and gather data to implement sustainable solutions. Good communication, analytical, & time management skills and an ability to work in a focused environment, delivering high quality results on time and on budget
