The Front Line Manager is responsible for aviation safety activities in a complex and dynamic environment. Manages and monitors individual and unit, group, or team performance standards with organizational initiatives, goals, and objectives by providing feedback, acknowledging achievement, and addressing performance deficiencies. Incumbent has full authority and responsibility to make all decisions and take action in the assigned program areas, subject to the manager's administrative review. Higher-level management reviews performance periodically by utilizing/reviewing work products, status reports, and organizational measures in place to ensure timeliness, policy compliance, and overall alignment with the Flight Standards Service.
Directs the work of subordinate employees at the organizational unit level creating appropriate expectations for achieving intended results. Managerial duties include planning, organizing, setting priorities; assigning and allocating work for a unit, group, or team; monitoring and evaluating performance; coaching and developing employee capabilities; approving leave; and taking or recommending corrective/disciplinary action, as appropriate. Identifies relevant stakeholders associated with the work of the unit or branch and engages to receive feedback on unit performance, relationships and individual well-being. Creates partnerships exemplified by mutual respect, productive conflict, and effective action taking to address service issues. Encourages teamwork within the unit or branch exemplified by ensuring individuals are working with others beyond their area of expertise, specialty or job role to collect and consider other views and perspectives.
Applies a comprehensive knowledge of the technical aspects of the directed work, typically governed by Federal Aviation Regulations, established guidelines, policies, and procedures. General Requirements for All Positions:
* Not more than two separate incidents involving Federal aviation regulations violations in the last 5 years;

Medical Requirements for All Positions:

Individual reports to the Lead Electrical Safety Inspector. II. DIFFICULTY OF WORK:
Work consists of complex, varied, standardized and non-standardized tasks requiring application of numerous laws, rules, regulations, and procedures. Individuals are required to provide technical assistance to staff personnel on programs, policies, the interrelationship of programs, the computer system and the application of those programs under extremely complex and difficult situations. It requires the individual to be continually aware of changes in statute and mandated procedures, which must be learned and passed on to, staff. Procedures must be developed for implementing changes at the local level.
III. RESPONSIBILITY:
Supervisor provides general guidance allowing the individual the ability to plan the procedures and methods to attain objectives. Individual makes choices or decisions without supervisory input on most daily activities, such as scheduling appointments, establishing priorities, making referrals to other agencies, and forming collaborative relationships with other service providers in the county. Errors in work may cause inaccuracies in reports, records, or technical data resulting in inaccurate or incomplete information and non-compliant or unsafe structures which would tarnish the offices credibility and mislead property owners and/or the public.
IV. PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS:
Contact is with co-workers, employees from public and private sector organizations and the public. The purpose of these contacts is to guide and direct, check on progress of work assigned, coordinating services, job development/referrals and handle questions about Department, programs and client concerns.
V. PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Physical Requirements: Individual performs moderate to heavy work, which may require the lifting of over fifty (50) pounds. Individual must also be able to lift own body weight out of crawl spaces and up into attics, etc.
Physical Activity: Individual performs the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, walking, lifting, manual dexterity, grasping, talking, listening, standing, pushing, pulling, and feeling.

Performs regulatory surveillance of air carrier activities, exercises certificate authority over a major air carrier with very extensive and complex avionics. Analyzes flight involving large fleets of turbojet aircraft engaged in large-scale passenger and freight service; or evaluates maintenance activities and complete aircraft overhaul facilities which are equipped and staffed to handle the latest and most sophisticated turbojet aircraft and associated systems. This level includes responsibility for national and international prominent carriers who operate the largest, most advanced fleets of turbojet aircraft in the industry.
Exercises certificate authority and safety responsibility over a complex of broad and varied major air carriers in terms of size and complexity of aircraft fleet employed, scope and technical complexity of operations, management sophistication, industry leadership, and public impact.
Evaluate flight avionics programs for organizations which utilize complex aircraft, systems, and equipment. Exercises originality to resolve unique problems.
Plans and directs the use of time and resources to accomplish organizational objectives. Defines, organizes, and uses resources to accomplish work activities within established schedules, analyzes program requirements and accomplishments, and makes or directs adjustments as necessary to address organizational needs.
Provides guidance to field level staff to solve difficult technical issues. Resolves problems with the intervention of management or a more experienced technical specialist. Develop plans, techniques, and policies to address current and anticipated problems and issues. Works with management to solve problems.
Occasionally represents the agency as a point of contact for policy development, inspection activities or as a technical trainer/instructor delivering formal training.
Provides staff assistance and serves as advisor to the manager on all matters pertaining to assigned tasking. Assists Safety Assurance ASIs, aviation safety technicians, and others on queries that are technical or guidance related.
Assists in the preparation of highly technical and high priority correspondence to the aviation industry, other governmental agencies, members of Congress, and the general public. Assures that correspondence is properly coordinated, technically and grammatically accurate, clear and concise, and that it reflects the philosophy, policies, and objectives of the Branch, Division, Service, and the FAA.

We are actively hiring Natural Gas Leak Survey Technicians who are service-minded team players. Our Leak Survey Technicians utilize various equipment to survey gas lines to ensure pipeline integrity. Leaks are then investigated, classified, and documented. If serving your community, protecting the environment, and working in a stable industry with plenty of room for growth sounds appealing, then we want to talk to you. No experience required, PAID Training.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Detect and evaluate leaks on natural gas systems.
Detect issues before they become a hazard that threatens life and property.
Document and report leaks to our clients in order for repairs to be scheduled.
Interact professionally with the public and clients.
Ensure survey equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and in good working condition.
Utilize provided mapping tools, location information, and specialized equipment.
Prioritize work by reviewing all leak survey requests to determine routing.
Drive to sites in response to routine ticket requests and emergencies.
Relocate as needed to address urgent situations promptly.
Read and understand utility maps/prints and schematics
Spend 95% of job time in a field environment with some administrative tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess a valid driver's license with clean driving record
Pass pre-employment background and drug screening (there will be random drug testing throughout employment as well)
Have a High School Diploma or GED
Must be reliable and punctual for scheduled assignments
Must be able to lift up to 25lbs
Ability to learn gas detection principles and equipment operation.
Ability to learn to utilize utility maps, records, and other resources to locate underground utility lines accurately
Ability to walk, bend, kneel, and stand outdoors for long periods of time through all kinds of terrain, including urban, suburban, and rural locations, and working under adverse conditions (heat, cold, hills, swamps, wildlife & insects, high traffic areas).
Technical Aptitude & familiarity with technology
Able to demonstrate the ability to follow directions, produce quality work, maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all Federal, State, and Company regulations and policies
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with team members, customers, and clients.
Prior work experience working as a Field Technician or performing in a role that services a local territory or field-based work outdoors is preferred

Full-time/Day-time positions.
Some overtime may be required as well as on-call shifts occasionally and some Holidays.
