Ø WPP has an international digital design and communications firm are known as AKQA. In 1994, London-based Advertising Inc. was established as a privately held company.
Ø In 1994, AKQA was created in the United Kingdom.
Ø General Atlantic invested in AKQA at the beginning of 2007, taking controlling ownership in the company.
Ø In 2012, WPP bought majority ownership in the agency, buying out General Atlantic and also getting a piece of the shares that had previously been controlled by AKQA's management.
