    About the Role The Engineering Department at AKRF is seeking a Senior Civil Roadway Engineer to be based out of New York City, NY. This individual will serve a key function in the design of public roadway and infrastructure projects for our broad range of New York City and State agency clients. The potential candidate will have the opportunity to work in an environment of encouragement and collaboration to help AKRF shape the future of New York. Job Responsibilities: Experience in delivering infrastructure projects for NYCDDC and NYCDOT preferred, other NY agencies such as NYSDOT, NYCEDC, NYCDEP, PANYNJ, and MTA a plus. Lead civil design and production of plans, specifications, and deliverables for capital improvement projects involving roadway, drainage, and utility infrastructure in New York City. Strong technical knowledge in roadway design, such as alignments, grading and drainage, utility relocation, water main and sewer design, traffic signals, street lighting, and maintenance & protection of traffic/construction phasing. Provide direction, delegation, mentoring, and training to staff engineers. Manage project tasks, schedules, and budgets, and support overall project management responsibilities. Oversee day-to-day project communication and coordination with team members, clients, and stakeholders. Ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables while managing multiple deadlines in a collaborative, detail-oriented, and client-focused manner. Essential Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required). 7-12 years of related experience. Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York State strongly preferred (or ability to obtain within 6-12 months of hire). Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D required Knowledge of MicroStation / Open Roads a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail. Compensation Compensation will range from $100k to $135K, and commensurate with experience. This position is for DDG51 Machinery Control Systems (MCS) Land Based Engineering Site (LBES) Electrical and Computer Engineer for the LBES Integration (LBESi) team. The main function of the candidate will be to provide lifecycle support of fielded and future LBESi equipment at DDG-51 LBES needed to configure, monitor, and test DDG51 MCS Software. This includes managing all onsite installations, repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance of LBESi equipment in an industrial environment. This is an **onsite** position with limited possibilities for remote work. Responsibilities will include: 1. Lifecycle support of LBES configuration and Test Tools which includes, but is not limited to: a. Provide service and customer support for equipment including but not limited to PLCs, VME, PXI, microcontrollers, network switches, and software applications. b. Observing and testing machinery equipment operation in order to diagnose malfunctions. c. Troubleshoot technical problems, identify possible solutions, and implement recommended mitigations in a timely manner. d. Analyzing test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems. e. Solving complex problems with clear analytical thought, taking into account multiple factors and tradeoffs. f. Develop test procedures to exercise requirements of current and future systems. g. We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer/Planner in our Traffic and Transportation group to help drive the next generation of traffic and transportation solutions and improve roadway safety for our local communities. Our staff is exposed to a diverse experience in a broad range of regional, state, and municipal planning and engineering projects. The successful candidate will support traffic/transportation engineering design and planning projects throughout New York for AKRF's Traffic and Transportation group located in White Plains, NY. Qualified candidates will be able to prepare analysis and design documents including project deliverables, supervise and mentor junior staff, and participate in client meetings and presentations to public audiences and boards. Job Responsibilities: Work within a team of professionals to develop traffic and transportation planning and engineering solutions for various transportation projects. Conduct comprehensive traffic impact studies to address multi-modal transportation issues, including those related to vehicular traffic, public transportation, pedestrian flow, street user safety, and parking. Conduct safety studies and road safety audits to develop comprehensive safety solutions for local communities Perform traffic modeling to simulate and analyze traffic flow and patterns, helping to predict and solve potential issues. Develop, analyze, and evaluate traffic improvement plans to enhance roadway safety and efficiency. Design roadways and intersections, ensuring they meet current safety standards and accommodate traffic flow effectively. Prepare and review technical memoranda and reports, ensuring accuracy and clarity in presenting findings and recommendations. Actively participate in meetings, including municipal board meetings, to share ideas with the team, clients, consultant partners, and other stakeholders Prepare and deliver analysis findings, concerns, and recommendations clearly and concisely to clients and stakeholders. Manage small to mid-size projects and serve as a task leader, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction. Strong desire to learn and share knowledge with other team members to develop solutions. Essential Requirements: 5-7 years of experience.
