+ Determine quality of finished products, ensuring defect-free parts, by verifying dimensions, alignment, and clearances for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITY:
The WIOA Youth Career Coach will be responsible for coordinating work-based and academic services to out-of-school young adults, ages 16-24. The primary responsibilities include completing an individualized plan which includes assessing the participant's skills, interests, needs and personal goals for successful completion of an educational credential and gainful employment. Career Coaches must work to meet all goals and benchmarks established by the MWA for their individual caseload. Career Coaches will be evaluated on their performance and held accountable for meeting established goals on their assigned caseload. Career Coaches will deliver all 14 elements either in-house or identifying partnerships to ensure availability and ensure all 14 elements are made available to program participants.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Explain the services available to participants within the Michigan Works Administration.
Develop service strategies for each participant that shall identify an employment goal, appropriate achievement objectives, and appropriate services for the participant.
Provide activities leading to the attainment of a secondary school diploma or its equivalent, or a recognized post-secondary credential.
Coordinate all follow-up services, job search classes, supportive services and/or training services.
Conduct comprehensive and specialized assessments, including diagnostic testing and interviewing (ONET and CASAS or TABE).
Make referrals as appropriate to community resources and other WIOA resources, including Academic Centers, Essential Work Skills, and workshops.
Approve training for participants only at State approved educational and training providers for training approved by the local Workforce Development Board.
Assure that all applicants certify that they received a written statement explaining services and summary of the Michigan Works Administration's grievance and complaint procedure, MWA EO policy, Discrimination policy and Release of Information.
Determine eligibility for and document and schedule supportive services as needed and will monitor to ensure that as problems arise, needs are adequately met.
Monitor the progress toward short and long-term goal attainment.
Monitor all required reports, review for accuracy, and complete indicated case actions.
Update the MIS with the appropriate case note entries after each contact with the participant.
Refer to other partners those participants who are in need of services that cannot be provided under the program.
Attend required MWA trainings.
Update Program County calendar monthly.
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Meet with SVRC administrators for program updates.
Copy and file materials as needed.
Attend workshops, meetings and seminars as directed.
Assist other program staff and/or the Director as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree, a concentration in human services is preferred.
Prior Case Management/Workforce Development experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
Preferred background would include a demonstrated ability to handle and motivate the public effectively.
Proper phone usage and good communications skills, both written and oral, are necessary.
Must have the ability to prioritize and organize to meet goals and deadlines.
Must be able to meet the travel demand of the job.
