    The **Patient Coordinator** is responsible for performing a variety of customer service and patient care tasks to ensure a positive patient experience. Ensures documentation and patient records are prepared and organized. Ensures patients have a clear understanding of what to expect during and after their appointment. **Specific duties include, but are not limited to:** + Greets and assists patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone. + Will perform patient registration in various systems. + Answers all phone calls in a professional and courteous manner. + May collect monies for time-of-service patient responsibility. + May be responsible for verifying insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization. Patient Assistance: + May perform preliminary screening of patients prior to procedures, which may include medical history. + May transport patient to/from the exam room. + May assist in patient transfer on/off the exam table. + May transport patient to/from the exam room. + May provide the patient with preliminary and post-procedure instructions. Work Area & Supply Preparation + In the mobile setting, may assist in preparing the unit for transport. + Will maintain a clean and organized work area. + May order supplies and ensure the work area is properly stocked. Documentation + Will ensure accuracy of patient records. + May schedule patient appointments and obtain insurance verification and/or authorization. + May prepare medical records for physicians, patients and customers. + Ensures accurate documentation of patient visits in various electronic + systems and on written documents. + May assist the clinical staff with documentation and image delivery to the patient, physician, or contracted customer. + Performs all duties within HIPAA regulations. + Other duties as assigned. **Position Requirements:** + High School Diploma or equivalent experience required. + For Mobile Radiology and Oncology, CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire. + For Fixed Radiology, CPR Certification is a plus. + As applicable, valid state driver's license required. + Ability to work at several locations required. + Strong customer service skills. + Organizational and multi-tasking skills. + Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs. + Local travel may be required to support multiple sites. + The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment. + All candidates who accept an offer for employment will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen as a condition of employment. **Preferred** + Six months customer service or related experience and/or training. + Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus. + Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. **Physical Requirements:** The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit.
