They are class leaders who act as a support system by helping students understand course material and class expectations. The role of a peer mentor can be compared to that of a teaching assistant without the responsibility of grading assignments.
Additionally, peer mentors receive priority registration for the semester for which they mentor.
Applicants selected to be a peer mentor will be assigned to work with academic departments and will be expected to work with students in a course approved by that department.
