Operates vehicle in accordance with Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, state and federal laws. Drives a solid waste and/or recycling collection vehicle on designated routes throughout City streets. Collects solid wastes and/or recycling materials at various locations, including bags and garbage cans. Positions and returns containers on the customer's property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced. Closes enclosure doors and secures gates, ensures containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic. Delivers solid waste to the landfill/incinerator for disposal. Delivers recyclables to the appropriate facility for processing. Disposes materials in the incinerator/landfill, or Transfer Stations, as directed. Picks up and disposes of dead animals as needed. Operates a variety of light and heavy equipment.
