    The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for an Assistant Customer Technical Representative (ACTR) to support our government customer in Arlington, Virginia. The ideal candidate is required to be onsite five (5) days per week. The ACTR plays a key role in collaborating with leadership, staff and new members to manage the IT initiatives for their respective organization. The ideal candidate will lead project level efforts to track, coordinate, and resolve day-to-day software, hardware, and NMCI/Flankspeed operational issues, maintenance, and upgrades for Navy Sailors and the Navy's overall workforce. DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES: * Order new NMCI seats as directed by the Government * Request changes to existing NMCI services as directed by the Government * Take corrective action to initiate the resolution of application outages within one hour of notification. * Assist with technical refreshes of NMCI assets. Examples of support include providing notifications of upcoming tech refreshes, providing instructions received from NMCI to users, and assisting with basic troubleshooting as required * Provide guidance and training regarding NMCI matters * Track NMCI expenses for services * Communicate NMCI guidance to the assigned Government organization * Address NMCI user issues by assisting with basic troubleshooting as required. For more complex issues, refer the users to the NMCI help desk. * Track items such as computers, cell phones, and Wi-Fi devices issued to personnel. * Ensure only authorized personnel enter designated facilities through the front door. * Provide support for personnel to enter bases/facilities. * Ensure visitors register and receive a visitor ID badge and are escorted by authorized personnel before they are permitted to enter facilities. * Recover expired badges, log badges, and return them for destruction * Provide facilities management support for the assigned Government organization including coordinating activities to resolve facilities issues and answer the telephone during normal working hours when present in the Government office. * Manage classified materials as directed by the Government, implementing security-related measures and controls for the assigned Government organization in accordance with local and federal policies and procedures for managing classified material. * Assist the Contract Security Oversight Manager with conducting communication security (COMSEC) review inspections. * Other duties as assigned by Supervisor REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: * Bachelor's Degree. Structural Engineering Technician shall maintain a comprehensive knowledge of mechanical equipment, engineering principles, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), plumbing and heating systems. Performs a variety of duties to include facilities maintenance and repairs, door, locks and hardware installation, painting, expansion joints, wall, ceiling and flooring repairs, carpet and furniture installation and minor electrical and sheet metal repairs. DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES: * Performs minor repairs to concrete block walls, gypsum board and fire-retardant panels. Ensures application of coating materials by brushing, rolling and spraying, using coating materials that are prepared according to specific directions and by application of coating techniques that ensure surfaces are fully coated, protected, and free from drips and runs. * Will apply epoxy floor coatings for minor repairs, pours wet concrete into forms; spreads and levels; smooth's and finishes using trowel and float. * Plans and lays out work utilizing blueprints or lay-out sketches when provided; determines tools required and estimates necessary materials. * Performs work in bio-containment suites (BSL-3 and BSL-4) in the presence of highly hazardous infectious agents and toxins and is required to participate in Bio-surety Personnel Reliability System. Performs work in animal facilities and is required to be Hepatitus B negative and TB tested every 6 months. Shall qualify for and remain enrolled in the Biological Personnel Reliability Program (BPRP) in place at USAMRIID in accordance with Department of the Army's AR 190-17 and local policies and regulations. Will follow all safety standards in accordance with the Department of the Army's DA-PAM 385-69 and (Perpetual). Enroll in Formaldehyde Program for personnel working with formaldehyde or forms of formaldehyde such as paraformaldehyde and formalin per 29 CFR OSHA 1910.1048. FTE enrolled in the Formaldehyde Program must physically be able to perform strenuous work while wearing full formaldehyde PPE. Work to include but not limited to; Preparation and decontamination of BSL3 and BSL4 airlocks,preparation and decontamination of BSL3 and BSL4 HEPA filter housing, cleaning airlocks and penthouse spaces after decons as well as airlock washdowns. Perform HEPA Filter Housing Certifications. * Shall work independently in the absence of supervision. Requires a sound and broad knowledge of the general maintenance mechanic trade; ability to read and work from blueprints, specifications, sketches, orders, either written or oral and to use arithmetic or practical mathematics; a working knowledge of the trade gained through practical experience in order to lay out work and solve problems independently. * Operates and maintains wood-working and sheet metal machinery satisfactorily. Must have knowledge of standard surface preparation and coating methods and techniques. Shall have skill in the use of such tools and equipment as scrapers, wire brushes, putty knives, sandpaper, paint brushes, rollers, spray guns, etc. Shall be able to use such hand tools as hammers, rip and cross-cut saws, chisels, braces and bits, and planes; operates power equipment such as power saws, planers, and jointers. * Have a comprehensive knowledge of the work methods, sequences and techniques of cement work. * Assures that work assignments, procedures, sequence, methods, and deadlines are completed on time. Overall work operations are reviewed for status and progress causes of delays and other problems. * Shall maintain technical competency of repairing, replacing and adjusting doors and door jambs, electrical components, lightbulbs, cabinets, fabricate wall plates, grates, strainers, sheet metal boxes and lids, interior/exterior signage and wall brackets. * Normally works directly with the requestor for the duration of the assignment (although requests may come through the TPOC/Facility Management Office/COR) and is responsible for independently planning and carrying out the assignment based on an understanding of the purpose and use of the end item. TPOC assigns work orally or through work orders. Incumbent determines the kind and type of materials and tools which will be needed to complete the assignment and makes the selection of materials and equipment and substitutes on own initiative. Fitting and installing require close attention to specifications, blueprints, and sketches without assistance or supervision, except on the most complicated projects. TPOC checks completed work to insure that accepted trade standards are met. * Shall perform after-hour, emergency call back, and variable work schedules as required. Response time for call-ins shall be within one hour of notification. * Performs other duties as assigned. Assists others in some assignments; however, is expected to carry out others independently. Informs TPOC of status of assignments and may request guidance or help when problems beyond his capabilities are encountered. Will comply and enforce all safety standards governed by regulation and OSHA. Workload will usually involve an average of 37 unscheduled and scheduled work requests per month worked in part or whole, including assessment, coordination, action, troubleshooting, identifying required repair parts and completing paperwork for DMLSS tracking. * The technicians shall perform on-site inspections as assigned, interpret blue prints for accuracy, confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement testing, reviewing operation manuals, maintenance plans and procedures, identifying critical parts, develops operational procedures, standing operating procedures and inputting data into database. Technician shall document any discrepancies and report them back to the TPOC, Facility Management Office, and COR. * Other duties as assigned by supervisor. The Technician shall serve as a primary mentor to junior staff members entering the BSL-3 & BSL-4 containment suites and support scientific research personnel and facility management personnel operating within BSL-3 and BSL-4 environments as needed. DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES: * Shall have the technical competence to replace air lock door gaskets, perform lock smith duties, vent valves, chemical shower devices, chemical injection nozzles, exhaust filters, water filters, animal watering filters, P-Traps, lighting, electrical switches and covers within BSL-3 and BSL-4 containment environments. * Provides Containment and Decontamination program leadership and support. These duties include decontamination consultation, awareness, decontamination safety notification assurance, decontamination team support, program documentation for maintenance, containment integrity support and verification and quality assurance support for decontamination and biocontainment team members. Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.     The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a qualified Post-Approval Compliance Monitor to support our government customer located in Silver Spring, Maryland. The candidate will verify ongoing research is conducted in accordance with existing regulations, policies and procedures, and provide training, as needed/requested. DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The WRAIR-based clinical research scientific monitoring services (Post-Approval Compliance Monitoring for the IRB) shall include the following tasks: * Develop a monitoring plan that includes a schedule for the conduct of routine monitoring for WRAIR and its forward laboratories IAW applicable SOPs. The monitoring plan shall be delivered within three months of TO award and updated annually. * Perform routine and for-cause monitoring of human subjects research and protocols that receive research determinations. Verify the appropriate regulations are applied during the review of a study and validate that the research/activity is conducted as approved. Perform monitoring visits considered to be time sensitive within timeframe specified by COR. * For each monitoring visit, draft reports that accurately document the conduct of monitoring activities performed and corrective actions requested/performed by the study team. Provide draft reports to the COR and/or HSPB Director for review and incorporation of feedback within ten business days following a visit. * Perform weekly internal reviews of hard copy and electronic HSPB files. Update/correct files, as necessary, within five business days of identification of an error. Up to three delays performing weekly review of files, and up to three delays making updates/corrections per year are acceptable. * Conduct training in human subjects protection, compliance monitoring, and quality of records to investigators, WRAIR researchers, IRB, HSPB, and other staff as needed. REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION * Bachelor's degree in allied science or related field * Certification or evidence of training completed in Clinical Trial Monitoring requirements and best practices REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: * Minimum three (3) years experience as a Clinical Trial Monitor * Knowledge and experience in the areas of clinical research and regulatory affairs as related to clinical studies, healthcare management, and technology-based training and education programs * Experience compiling and auditing clinical study packages for IRB review * Experience monitoring/auditing clinical laboratory use of human subjects and study data * Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and Human Subjects Protection (HSP) * Must possess strong written and verbal communication with the ability to communicate effectively with clinical research personnel DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: * Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) certification through SOCRA preferred * DoD experience preferred REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE: * Must be a U.S. Citizen * Ability to pass a Tier I background investigation.
