    Summary Role Overview: Under close supervision, the Radiologic Technologist (Multi-Modality) performs a variety of duties in the Department of Radiology/ Imaging Services of Alameda Health System related to general Radiography/Fluoroscopy. Performs various diagnostic imaging examinations of patients as directed for diagnostic and treatment purposes according to established procedures. Performs related duties as required. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification, however, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification. * Assists Physician in administering opaque media (contrast) * Rotates assignments within the department by assigned shifts as required to meet departmental needs * Processes Images as appropriate for Modality (CR/DR/Film) and is proficient in utilizing the PACS system (Picture Archival Communications) * Maintains adequate records of examinations/dose/contrast as directed, and appropriately utilizing two patient identifier with each patient exam * Assists with movement of patients (rooming/transport) * Assists in the development/optimization of technical factors for radiographic procedures * May assist in equipment or procedures not routinely taught in school * May assist in the training of students * Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with designate areas or procedures as required * Performs all general diagnostic and routine fluoroscopic duties as determined by employer. * Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination * Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of environment and supplies * Ensure utilization of non expired supplies by checking stock regularly and using "first in first out" rule of re stocking * Produces Radiographs, positions and transfers patients, and provides immobilization devices as necessary to obtain images * Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards. * Ensure utilizing techniques that promote ALARA on an individual patient basis (As Low as Reasonably Achieved) for radiation exposure * Selects and operates all imaging equipment as directed and licensed to perform.
