Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification. * Assists Physician in administering opaque media (contrast) * Rotates assignments within the department by assigned shifts as required to meet departmental needs * Processes Images as appropriate for Modality (CR/DR/Film) and is proficient in utilizing the PACS system (Picture Archival Communications) * Maintains adequate records of examinations/dose/contrast as directed, and appropriately utilizing two patient identifier with each patient exam * Assists with movement of patients (rooming/transport) * Assists in the development/optimization of technical factors for radiographic procedures * May assist in equipment or procedures not routinely taught in school * May assist in the training of students * Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with designate areas or procedures as required * Performs all general diagnostic and routine fluoroscopic duties as determined by employer. * Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination * Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of environment and supplies * Ensure utilization of non expired supplies by checking stock regularly and using "first in first out" rule of re stocking * Produces Radiographs, positions and transfers patients, and provides immobilization devices as necessary to obtain images * Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards. * Ensure utilizing techniques that promote ALARA on an individual patient basis (As Low as Reasonably Achieved) for radiation exposure * Selects and operates all imaging equipment as directed and licensed to perform.
