RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: Assemblers must be able to perform a combination of production assembly tasks to ensure conformance to specifications and continuous production consistent with established standards. Assembles parts to form complete unites or subassemblies at a bench or conveyor line in an open-air manufacturing environment. May be assigned to work in any area of the facility where required including final assembly, subassembly, and insulation. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Performs a combination of production assembly tasks using hand tools, small power tools, and other special equipment following detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures (written and verbal) to meet and exceed customer expectations. Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, engineering drawings, and shop orders to assemble final and subassembly products. Operates within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs). Safety Awareness - Take responsibility for their own safety as well as the safety of others. Understand the proper processes/equipment in the department. Knowledge of JSA's, PPE usage, 5S, and all safety regulations in the facility. Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions and complies with all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures. Quality - Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisors. Performs first article inspection for conformance to specifications both blue print and work order. Teamwork - Builds teamwork by working with other departments, shifts, and management to meet and exceed customer expectations. Communicate regularly and effectively with co-workers, utilities, coordinators, and management and reports problems with safety, quality, processes, equipment, materials, and/or questionable conditions to the Department Supervisor. Ability to troubleshoot and provide solutions with the understanding of value-add versus non-value add activities and improve the ratio. Flexibility. Availability to work overtime and/or move between shifts for training and/or coverage purposes to support production as needed. Demonstrated ability to use computer utilizing software such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and ERP systems. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Ensures quality standards are maintained in handling, packaging and finishing of all products assembled/packaged. Comply with safety, operating policies, procedures regarding equipment, materials, and finished goods. Performs sanding, polishing, cleaning, assembly and packing job tasks as assigned. Ensures correct quantity of product per carton and proper assembly/packaging requirements are followed. Read and follow assembly schedule, write tickets and make labels, W.I.P., or products accurately. Verifies box and UPC label accuracy with packaged product. Fills out and maintains required data on production-related forms. Inspects the product at each step of the secondary and/or packaging process for quality defects. Performs necessary post-molding operations and rework as required to adhere to quality standards. Flexible to work on all packing/assembly operations Maintains a clean and organized workstation. Maintains strict housekeeping guidelines and safety practices at all times. Recognize and report any problems, issues, discrepancies, or questions to Process Technician and/or Supervisor in a timely fashion. Must be able to read and understand instructions for assembly, packaging and operating secondary machinery. Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual, and dependable in order to meet the needs of the department and the organization. Execute each essential duty satisfactorily in order to perform job successfully. Follows all safety procedures required in work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions. Responsibilities / Tasks Are you skilled in assembling components, subassemblies, products, or systems? We're looking for dedicated Assembly Team Members to join our dynamic team. We have opportunities for both Light Assemblers and Heavy Assemblers, each with specific responsibilities and requirements. Light Assembler Key Responsibilities: Assembly: Read work orders, follow production drawings, and verbal instructions to assemble components, subassemblies, products, or systems. Positioning: Use jigs, fixtures, or other holding devices to position and align parts in specified relationships. Securing Parts: Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, weld, solder, cement, press fit, or perform similar operations to secure parts in place. Wiring: Connect component lead wires to printed circuits and route wires between components, connectors, terminals, and contact points. Installation: Install finished assemblies or subassemblies into cases and cabinets. Hardware Attachment: Assemble and attach hardware like caps, clamps, knobs, and switches to assemblies. Intermediate Tasks: Perform tasks such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, stamping, and color-coding parts and assemblies. Adjustments: Trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics. Testing: Perform online go-no-go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards. Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned. Your Profile and Qualifications: Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED required; 2 years of experience in the assembly field or in a related area. Vocational training preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and SAP. Ability to read and comprehend technical documents, blueprints, and schematics. Mechanical Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical systems and manual dexterity for precision work. Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, occasional over-the-head lifting, frequent walking, and handling objects up to 30 pounds.
