Alaska Regional Hospital history
Alaska Regional Hospital company history timeline
Founded in 1963, the hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). Originally called the Anchorage Presbyterian Hospital, Alaska Regional offers a variety of inpatient and outpatient services.
In 1976 the hospital moved to its present location on DeBarr Road, and is now a 250-bed licensed and accredited facility.
In 1994, Alaska Regional joined with HCA, giving Alaskans access to the advanced medical resources of one of the nation’s largest healthcare providers.
By 1998, ANMC’s transition to Alaska Native ownership was completed with its transfer to the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium and Southcentral Foundation.
In November 2013, the ANMC celebrated its 60th anniversary.
