Job Summary and Qualifications As a highly skill and compassionate Float Pool Nurse you provide individualized comprehensive nursing care to meet the patients care needs while floating in different units of the hospital. Our team is amazing and we are looking for someone who has a passion for providing excellent patient care. You will be joining a team that is dedicated to serving others in need and also supporting one another. In this role You will provide the best possible preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care to each patient based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy and procedure. You will be assigned responsibilities with full patient assignment will be specific to PCU, Medical/Oncology, CVSU, Ortho and Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, primarily to cover sick calls You will provide assessment and planning for individualized patient care. You will respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. You will provide care for the patient in collaboration with the patient/family, with regard to developmental, cultural and age specific differences, develops and implements patient care plans to include problems, goals, evaluations and interventions. You will communicate effectively with physicians regarding patients clinical condition and results of diagnostic studies. You will perform nursing duties as needed in the continuum of care for all patients. You will participate in process improvement efforts and activities for the department. You will act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure. What qualifications you will need: Registered Nurse State of Alaska Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred. Prefer one year of clinical nursing experience in a health care facility American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and (ALS or ACLS) and Certification Required HCA Healthcare's Alaska Regional Hospital is known for our expertise, compassion and skills. Job Summary and Qualifications A Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) who renders individualized comprehensive nursing care to meet the patients physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural and educational needs. The Critical Care Float Pool RN provides the best possible preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative nursing care to each patient based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy and procedure. The Float Department RN functions under the oversight and direction of the Nursing Supervisor. Assignment responsibilities with full patient assignment will be specific to critical care patients in ICU, Intermediate Care Unit, or Emergency Room. In this role you will: Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. Assess patient environment for any safety risks and/or non-compliance with regulatory standards. Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention. Assess patient condition for signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect. Reports any indications of abuse or neglect to medical provider(s), nurse leader, and/or appropriate agency. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
