If you want an outstanding law education at one of the oldest independent law schools in the nation, then the Albany Law School in Albany, New York, may be the place for you. Located at the home of New York's highest courts, federal courts and state legislature, students are immersed in the study of law. The school's academics offer JD and master's degrees for Law and International Law in more than 14 concentrations like government administration and regulation, health law, intellectual property law and more. Albany Law also offers several joint degree programs in conjunction with area colleges in the Capital District like Union Graduate College, University at Albany, College of Saint Rose, and more. Designed to provide a high quality educational experience and a wide variety of professional opportunities, these joint programs allow students to complete two degrees in four years as a full time student. Students must spend their first year of a joint degree program at Albany Law. The school contains several resources dedicated to student success, like: * Government Law Center * Law Clinic and Justice Center * Center for Excellence in Teaching Law * Institute of Legal Studies/Continuing Legal Education A broad range of student organizations are available, like the Albany Government Law Review, Albany Law School Civil Liberties Union, and many more. Admissions are open to students from a variety of backgrounds, including everything from Pre-Law to Music. Albany Law School offers its own scholarships and awards in addition to any federal financial aid that eligible students might receive.
