The opportunity
As a counselor for Recover, you'll work directly with patients to treat a variety of substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. You will be expected to develop relationships with your patients and help guide them through their recovery journey. You will also collaborate regularly with the rest of the treatment team, including the medical director, physicians, nurse practitioners, and case managers, to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients. Provides culturally competent and appropriate behavioral health treatment to people served by Community Counseling Solutions. The position provides treatment in accordance with the Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR's) and the mission and values of CCS. This position provides prompt and thorough assessment, evaluation, and intervention via telephone or in person, and provides written and verbal communication where indicated. The position works closely with other involved community partners and is professional in all aspects of service delivery. RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate ability to assimilate data from a wide range of observations and use various clinical techniques and skills in gathering the client's personal, family, medical, and psychiatric histories.
Establish short-term goals with clients, provide follow-up services as needed, and make appropriate/expeditious referrals.
Provide home visits and other outreach services to schools and other agencies/providers that are necessary and appropriate.
Thoroughly screen referrals to assure proper utilization of Outpatient Services.
Promptly and accurately complete clinical records and all collateral forms as necessary and required.
Arrange for hospitalization of clients, either on a voluntary or involuntary basis, and thoroughly assess to assure that it is the least restrictive alternative. In facilitating a patient's admission, Crisis Worker must accurately assess for special needs and alert other staff and/or physician to the apparent needs of the patient. Crisis Worker will act expeditiously in assisting police and all community agencies, including hospital staff.
Arrange emergency/temporary placement as appropriate.
Will work as part of a mental health emergency response team and avail themselves to work various non-traditional work hours covering call-offs when feasible.
Cooperate with all referral sources and will provide assistance, directions, and feedback as necessary and appropriate.
Provide consultation services to hospital departments and other providers as necessary and appropriate.
If varianced, provide clinical services to children, adults and families. This would include but is not limited to screening, assessment, individual and group therapy, consultation, and all other allowed clinical services.
Actively participate in joint case planning and coordination with agency employees and relevant agency contractors. Act as a liaison between clients and other agencies. Act as a client advocate when appropriate.
Actively participate in group and individual supervision sessions.
Work with other staff and community representatives to initiate new programs, reviews, evaluates and revises existing programs as necessary.
Perform joint case planning and coordination in areas of behavioral health with other community agencies including but not limited to: schools, group homes, police organizations, district attorney's offices, courts, community clinics and hospitals and other agencies in the Department of Human Services.
Provide behavioral health and addiction education, prevention and information to various interest groups.
Provide after hours emergency services on a 24 hour, rotating basis to adults. This includes telephone consultation and crisis intervention in the community. If varianced, provides same services to children.
If varianced, initiate holds, provide civil commitment investigations, and work with the hospitals, case workers and the state and other individuals/agencies for all individuals in the civil commitment process.
Complete all paperwork in a way that is professional, clinically sound and timely as prescribed by the OAR's and other pertinent guidelines. Required to ensure that all paperwork is present, and/or the client record is well maintained.
Attend trainings, meetings, conferences, etc. as directed by administration and use the information gathered to benefit the agency and the customers.
Assist other clinicians in the facilitation of groups as requested.
If varianced, provide intensive children's treatment services.
Utilize agency software/computer systems to prepare current client records of treatment and reports as necessary and required.
Transports clients as required
Administer forms for urinalysis testing (UA's), provide accurate information on the UA's to clients, in some cases observes the UA, and record all pertinent information.
Must report all abuse to appropriate legal office, complete all necessary paperwork and investigations, and develop safety plans as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
MHS IV - Either a doctorate degree from an accredited college in social work, psychology or other human service-related field is required, or a master's degree with accompanying certification as an Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
MHS III - Requires a master's degree from an accredited college in social work, psychology or other human service related field.
MHS II w/ Variance - Must possess bachelors degree and enrolled or willing to enroll in a Masters program within 4 months of hire.
Certifications
Must have or be able to obtain certification from the Department of Human Services as a Certified Mental Health Investigator.

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS
Must pass all criminal history check requirements as required by ORS 181.536-181.537 and in accordance with OAR 410-007-0200 through 410-007-0380.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Enhanced Support Team Supervisor, the Crisis Intervention Specialist supervises clients, provides a safe and secure environment and applies agency-approved methods of behavior modification including the point system, verbal de-escalation techniques, and physical intervention if needed. Remote Crisis Intervention Specialist Training
Lines for Life requires extensive Crisis Lines Onboarding training, which can be completed remotely. New hires must attend 5 weeks of paid crisis lines onboarding training. The next training begins March 9th and consists of 3 weeks between 8:30am - 5:00pm Pacific Time, Monday through Friday, plus 2 weeks of additional precepting training. The schedule for precepting can vary as we are a 24/7, 365 day a year operation, so flexibility in your availability is needed to complete the precepting portion of the training. We want to make sure that all candidates understand that while you do get a scheduled lunch break, even missing half hour portions of these trainings can result in training expectations not being met. The starting wage for the Remote Crisis Intervention Specialist position is $25.00/hr. for individuals with graduate degrees in a related field and $23.00/hr. for individuals with bachelor's degrees. Employees who live and work from the state of Oregon are eligible for a 2% differential over their base rate of pay for hours worked in Oregon. There is a $2/hr. overnight shift differential when working between the hours of 10 pm - 5 am Pacific Time and time and a half holiday pay when required to work holidays. What does a Crisis Intervention Specialist do?

Advanced knowledge of brief therapy and solution-focused counseling methods.
Prior military service/military family member and/or strong familiarity with military culture desired.
For CYB positions must meet the Magellan MFLC CYB criteria for experience with children and youth and specialty in child and adolescent development/psychology.
Creates a presence on the installation in which the service and family members feel comfortable approaching the counselor and recognize the program to be confidential; for CYB counselors -- creates a presence in child and youth settings, is available to children, youth, and staff. When working with children, counselor must abide by line of site protocol.
Establishes and maintains working relationships with community resources and provides appropriate linkages.
Partners with POC to provide Adult and CYB services in a manner that addresses the needs of the installation/facility. Develops an excellent working relationship with the installation/facility POC.
Manages duty to warn and restricted reporting situations according to DoD protocol and staffs the cases with Regional Supervisor/Regional Director.
Communicates with Regional Supervisors and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on the installations and in facilities to which they are assigned for substitute or on call services.
Responds to critical incidents and special requests as directed by the POC and approved by the OSD program manager.

The Center for Community Outreach at East Tennessee State University is seeking a Family Focused Solutions Counselor to support families participating in Families First and TANF programs. This position works closely with the Director of Family Services and Families First case managers to help individuals overcome barriers to employment and self-sufficiency. The counselor connects clients with community, private, and DHS resources, assesses individual needs, and determines appropriate referrals, including disability or SSI applications when warranted. Through counseling, guidance, follow-up, and ongoing communication, the counselor supports clients as they work toward stability, employment, and long-term success. The role also includes maintaining confidential records, preparing assessment materials, coordinating documentation for service providers, and performing related administrative and support duties essential to effective service delivery.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of brief solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, the 2 Gen approach, trauma informed care.
Knowledge of referral sources.
Ability to provide individual, group and/or family therapy.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to assess and evaluate client needs for short or long-term treatment and/or to be in a training program.

Required Qualifications
