WHAT YOU'LL BE ACCOMPLISH * Maintain continual observation of operation of all the various processes through recordings and indications of the control system, monitors and visual observation when necessary. * Ensure kiln and mill operation is in compliance with MSHA and company safety standards. * Ensure kiln and mill operation is in environmental compliance. * Monitor laboratory test results during shift and take corrective action as necessary to meet quality and quantity standards. * Manipulate controls to maintain optimum production rates and to prevent equipment damage. * Detect indications of equipment malfunction and report malfunctions to supervisors. * Maintain records and prepare reports in accordance with established procedures. * Work to keep costs related to work in line with the plant budget and be alert for ways to reduce costs of operations, maintenance and repairs. * Maintain work area in clean and organized condition. * Work overtime and rotating shift schedules. * Other duties as assigned. * Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
