Pros of working at ALDI USA

It is a very physical job so it can be good for those who want to be able to stay active and move around. The healthcare is also pretty competitive from what I have seen/heard. Many locations have staff that want to work hard and do well.

Cons of working at ALDI USA

The expectations for the employees are getting progressively more and more difficult to achieve. As one who has been working for the company for well over a decade, I have watched the company change a lot as the market has shifted. Some of it good, some of it not so good. The expectations currently seem extremely unrealistic and almost impossible to hit unless you have everything going right for you (I have also been a SM/ASM/management for most of my career with the company).

ALDI USA benefits

At this point, the people and friends that I have met. There's really not much else at this point.

What do you like best about ALDI USA's CEO and the leadership team?

I have not met him or have much of an opinion of him. He seems like a capable leader. The VP we have in my division is awful. He doesn't care about the people at all from what his actions say. We have heard several times recently, as they continue to cut payroll, "bodies in the building are not the answer [to the problems in the stores]". When they're forcing stores to function sometimes with only 2-3 people at a given time.

How would you improve ALDI USA's culture?

Listen to the tenured people who work the butts off and have poured their blood sweat and tears into the company. Sometimes literally. It's not like I am a new kid that is just upset with the culture of a company I've just started at. And if there is a good reason for doing what corporate is doing, then please explain it so that we can understand and implement it better. In a nutshell, communication is awful.

How did you prepare for the ALDI USA interview?

I don't remember honestly, it's been so many years now.

How does your compensation at ALDI USA compare to the industry average?

I'm not sure, but it doesn't feel very good. It's definitely not as good as it use to be. There use to be a larger gap between what our pay was and other companies in the industry which would justify the heavier work load expected of our members vs competition.

What's the diversity at ALDI USA like?

For those that it matters to, I am happy that we have diversity. But it doesn't really register for me.

What brings you the most joy at ALDI USA?

Being able to train and develop others around me. When I get that "ah ha!" moment from them.

Try to micromanage less let your store managers lead and only step in when there is a problem or when asked. Whoever came up with the idea to switch to the blue box cutters and cheep plastic pallets should not be allowed to contribute anymore.

None, long term employees are forgotten. We work hard and get nothing in return. The new lazy people get all of the benefits that we have "EARNED", they just get them. I have put in time ! I think me and my coworkers deserve better! I know nobody cares about us, but I'm really sick of it

Pros of working at ALDI USA

Pay. It paid really well and overtime was more than plentiful.

Cons of working at ALDI USA

Advancement was extremely limited and the work-life balance was terrible. You were expected to always pick up shifts. Also always had minimal staff and an outrageous amount of call-offs. The turnover rate did not help. This made it so you felt like you were the only one you could depend on time to time.

Pros of working at ALDI USA

-good pay -opportunity to advancement -Good management -good hours

Cons of working at ALDI USA

- hard manual labor - only a couple employees on staff at a time - with the entire staff working together it's still hard to get every thing done that needs to be done even when a good staff is present and then they load on more work when there isn't enough time to finish what we already need to do - judged on how fast you ring and customers don't always appreciate how fast we need to put there stuff in the basket

ALDI USA benefits

I like how if you work hard it's impossible to go unnoticed due to small staff and that you get paid holidays off insurance is 35 a month for full coverage and 401k is grate if you stay long enough
