This individual's essential duties and responsibilities will include: + Drafting and negotiating all confidentiality agreements. + Drafting and negotiating other real estate, vendor, and corporate contracts. + Managing real estate legal matters for one or more properties in a geographic region. + Supervising outside counsel with respect to leasing, transactional, or litigation matters. + Overseeing the accurate administration, processing, tracking, and execution of all legal matters within this individual's purview. + Serving as the internal legal liaison among outside counsel, business personnel, and other internal departments on company matters. + Managing and assisting on special legal department projects as needed or as assigned, including participating in developing and/or updating company policies on legal issues or processes. **Qualifications and Experience:** + Member of the California Bar in good standing required. + A minimum of 4 years' experience required, preferably within a real estate department of a major law firm. + Exposure to a variety of real estate matters, with an emphasis on leasing and/or real estate acquisitions and dispositions. + Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. + Proven success as a self-starter who thrives in a team environment and has excellent organizational and administrative skills. + Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to interact with and influence people at all levels. + Strong analytical and judgment skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects with deadlines. The expected base salary range for this position is $200,000 to $280,000 USD annually, plus annual discretionary bonus. The incumbent will be a highly skilled individual who has experience working with a high volume of invoices and full cycle accounts payable. Furthermore, this individual must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** Duties in the areas of Accounting and project support, as well as a variety of administrative duties, consist of but are not limited to the following: + Manage the day-to-day Nexus web-based invoice approval workflow, including but not limited to indexing and routing invoices for approval, checking for accuracy of the dollar amount, verifying general ledger coding to invoice support, monitoring time-sensitive invoices, reviewing for completeness of appropriate documentation prior to payment, and processing check runs. + Act as a liaison between the Asset Services and Accounting teams to ensure invoices are paid on time to mitigate risk of penalty fees and/or service interruptions. + Assist with the annual review of the vendor master file, including review and identification of potential fraud risk areas as they relate to vendor setup/maintenance, checking for validity of the vendor setup in JD Edwards accounting software, and maintaining approval of supporting files for all vendor setup packages. + Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts payable aging to the general ledger. + Reconcile monthly Company credit card transactions for payment and obtain general ledger coding as part of month-end accounting close. + Prepare the annual Form 1099 filings and annual unclaimed property reporting. + Manage employee travel and business expense reports through Concur web-based software. + Act as Accounting's point-of-contact to research and resolve variances of outstanding payments with vendors. + Maintain Form W-9 database in JD Edwards accounting software. + Participate in ad hoc projects such as internal and external audit requests, Financial Reporting Team projects, process improvements, department goals and initiatives, and other special projects. **Qualifications and Experience:** + Bachelor's degree required. + Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable, ideally in a large corporate environment. + Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels, including but not limited to vendors, HQ and field personnel, senior management, etc. + Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. + Commitment to accuracy, timeliness, and quality of work. + Proficiency with business-related software: Microsoft Excel, Word, etc. + Nexus, Concur, and JD Edwards software experience desirable. In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways: * Administers and advises the Wealth Management team on the interpretation of key provisions and duties of BNY as trustee. * Coordinates the strategic plan for managing and growing existing client relationships, with a focus on risk management. * Must understand how to interpret governing trust documents particular to each relationship, and work with internal partners and external advisors. * Will meet with clients, co-trustees and beneficiaries to ensure BNY is adhering to the highest fiduciary standards as trust advisor to multi-generational families. * Will be expected to assess, identify and escalate/address risk-related issues. * Orchestrate the varied administrative tasks through the support of the Wealth Management team. * May assist a more senior Fiduciary Specialist on complex accounts to gain breadth/depth of knowledge. * In some instances, this role may be focused on Estate settlements. * Specific knowledge as to the settlement of estates and probates will be required. * Administer charitable accounts in which specific knowledge will be required pertaining to the policies and procedures of those accounts. * Full knowledge of policies and procedures are essential to the Specialist role. * Independently evaluates and pursues new business opportunities and client prospects, focusing on responsible business growth that is compliant, of acceptable risk and profitable. * Serves in a consultative role to prospects, advising UHNW and HNW parties on the best way to achieve their short- and long- term strategic objectives through the firm's solutions. * Pursues clients and centers of influence with complex strategic needs and responsible for generating new revenue by way of increased flows and future fees. * Frequent and regular/scheduled interaction with clients, including in-person client meetings. * Serves as clients' primary point of contact and are responsible for ensuring that all of WM's resources are provided to clients in the Active Wealth framework. * Subject matter expert on all fiduciary topics which impacts clients and have in-depth knowledge of WM's fiduciary practices, policies and procedures. * Client-focused work includes administration and planning projects as requested by the client, peer Fiduciary Specialists or Active Wealth strategic opportunities. * Client activity may include the general administration of the processing of discretionary and non-discretionary request approvals, general account maintenance approvals, with regard to proxy and statement reporting, and other proprietary system maintenance associated with client records. * Demonstrates a business development orientation and mindset and has annual self-sourced asset goals and are expected to leverage existing client and COI relationships by consistently and systematically asking for referrals from clients and COIs, in order to generate self-sourced asset inflows, both IM and banking, and future fee appointments. * Work with teams on opportunities sourced by other functional team members. * Responsible for achievement and support of organic growth of assets and revenue goals assigned to team and practice. To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following: * Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. * Advanced/graduate degree preferred or equivalent work experience. * 6+ years of experience in fiduciary administration, including fiduciary taxation, and have managed large client relationships. * The qualified candidate must be self-motivated and possess very strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills as this position deals directly with key clients, prospects as well as legal, tax and insurance advisors. * CTFA, CFP strongly preferred.
