I was let go when my job of 40 years was eliminated. Not one person lifted a finger to help me find another position. I'm currently on unemployment paying over $1000 per month for COBRA insurance. Management took away cafeteria employee discounts and raised prices. The gift shop was eliminated.
After many years I was earning about 10 hours of PTO every paycheck.
Decent pay (after 40 years) but no raises for about 7 years since "maxed out". Free parking (but don't give them any ideas).

More input ftom management about what the heck is going on. Without the facts rumors take over and panic ensues. Have the volunteers walk visitors where they need to go. It's s big place so pointing a finger and saying "that way" doesn't cut it. SAMC is much better at this.
Get your references in order. You'll need 4 (at least 2 managers) with phone numbers and email addressed. Also know month and year(s) you worked together.
There were no other departments like our in the NW burbs so I don't know. My career died from AI advances.
It seems fine
I loved my job and knew it was important for patient care. I felt needed (until I wasn't) and necessary (until I wasn't). People respected what I did (until they eliminated our jobs).
