The following credentials satisfy the requirements in conjunction with the skills and knowledge requirements. These credentials do not include all possible means of meeting the requirements. An associate degree in medical laboratory technology. Certification by a national organization (i.e. ASCP, AMT, NCA) preferred. Certification for DOT urine drug testing collection and Breath Alcohol Testing. Note: May become certified after employment. Valid driver's license. Work environment Employees in this job classification have been identified as having the likelihood of occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials. The employee must comply with the OSHA Exposure Control Plan, utilizing Universal Precautions. The employee is subject to exposure to sharps, such as needles and lancets. The employee may be exposed to potentially hazardous chemicals. The employee must comply with the laboratories Chemical Hygiene Plan. The employee is subject to normal, climate-controlled environment (modern clinical laboratory).
