Alignment Healthcare is seeking a passionate, highly motivated, and detail-oriented member experience associate to join the member experience team in our Orange, CA office. The member experience associate will assist plan members with their concerns or complaints and provides the necessary information and education to resolve concerns. General Duties and Responsibilities: (May include but are not limited to) Explain plan's procedures, protocols, benefits, services, and any other necessary information to the members who call or visit the member experience department. Facilitate member requests for changes with network provider changes, transportation requests, or any other member request for assistance as appropriate. Answer all incoming member phone calls within the department's goal time frame. Document every incoming call during the call with pertinent details (i.e., caller name, contact info, reason for call, action taken, resolution, etc.) Respond to complaints against the health plan and its contracted facilities by utilizing the departments Complaint / Grievance Policy and Procedure. Make all attempts to resolve all member dis-enrollment / cancellation requests, complaint / grievances, and assist the member with their questions or concerns and following up as appropriate. Assist with member outreach programs and implementations as needed. Foster good corporate relations by practicing good customer service principles (i.e., positive attitude, helpful, etc.) Perform other duties as assigned by manager. Minimum Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Language skills: Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Able to write routine reports and correspondence. Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Mathematical skills: Able to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Able to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Reasoning skills: Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but un-involved written or verbal instructions. Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer skills: Strong computer skills. Compensation: Psychiatrist $115.00 - $138.00 per hour ; depending on years since licensed and pro-rated to FTE Responsibilities Essential Functions Evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with mental illnesses through a combination of primarily psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. Performs initial psychiatric assessments, develops individualized care plans, and implements treatment for the patient. Assesses patients through interviews, observations, tests, and medical history reviews. Monitors and records client progress, and amends treatment plan according to patient response. Provides verbal and written education and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers. Plans follow-up care, including requests for outside consultations and evaluations. Maintains patient records necessary for clinic reporting, billing, and quality improvement. Functions potentially in a variety of settings, including a health center, skilled nursing facilities, supportive housing sites, and in clients' homes. Provides patients with emotional support and strategies to help manage their disorder. Stay current with new developments in psychiatry and mental health. Participates as a member of the site clinical services team and attends clinical team meetings. Coordinates care with other health team members, including case management and behavioral health staff, clinical consultation with other clinicians. Acts as an advocate for the patient and liaison with outside agencies as appropriate. May supervise Advanced Practice Psychiatric Providers (Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants). Actively participates in internal quality improvement teams and works with members proactively to drive quality improvement initiatives according to the organization's mission and strategic goals, federal and state laws and regulations, and accreditation standards. Cross clinic work is required over multiple sites. Job Requirements Medical degree required and must have completed psychiatry residency and board eligible Current and unrestricted Medical License to practice in the state of California or CA Nurse Practitioner license and Board Certification as a PMHNP or PA-C. Must have current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration in order to prescribe certain medications. Interest in working with a diverse patient population in a community-based organization and sensitivity to their needs and health problems; commitment to a community health philosophy of prevention and primary care.
