  • Field Service Technician

    We are seeking a Regional Service Technician/ Field Engineer to join our team in the West Coast Region! *This individual MUST live in CA to be best fit for the role* This is a newly created position due to the increased projects they are working on and the growth they are seeing. Pay Rate: $30-35/hr - willing to take a look at candidates up to $40/hr+ if they are strong and have good experience. Candidates do receive an additional $8/hr to their base rate for every hour spent at a customer site. So if they get to a site in the morning and spend 10 hours at a customer site and their hourly rate is $30/hr, they would receive $40/hr for those 10 hours. BIG INCENTIVE! This individual would be responsible for service in the West Coast Region. The West Coast Region consists of the following states: California, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, and Oregon (about 90% of their time will be spent in SoCal). This individual must live in California - and more preferably Southern California. This individual will be covering clientele in this area. The role will be fully remote, though the expectation will be that this person is traveling a significant amount of their schedule. About 50-60% of the role will be overnight travel and another 20-30% of day trips via car to various parts of the territory. They will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of our equipment. The job will include a good foundational understanding of both electrical and mechanical maintenance but will include higher-pressure situations in front of customers. This person will put in stressful outcomes due to customers being frustrated, so it's important they can keep their cool. Tech's will be responsible for having mostly all of their own tools ( we will provide basic tools), and Tech's will receive a company laptop, phone, receive daily per diem for meals when traveling, and have a company card for hotels and travel. They do have the option to use their own card if they'd like to collect the points, however, the option for a company card is there as well. When driving, they receive the government standard mileage reimbursement (somewhere between .55-60 cents/mile). Hiring Manager Notes: Preferred: • B.S. or A.A.S. or Certifications in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or another applied hands-on degree would be preferred. • 3-5+ years of experience • Electrical troubleshooting skills o Experience troubleshooting PLC's (programming is a plus) o Working with voltage of 120v up to 480v o Experience reading electrical schematics • Strong mechanical aptitude o Good foundational understanding of how the equipment works and how machinery is put together. o Ability to read a basic blueprint for a motor and be able to assemble it by reading the blueprint. • Ability and willingness to travel - CRITICAL! • Good presentation skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations Pluses: • Experience working with the installation, maintenance, repair, and commissioning of capital equipment o Specifically packaging equipment would be the icing on the cake. Experience with baggers, weights, vertical form fill seal or horizontal form fill seal machines, would be a HUGE plus. • Knowledge of Automation - any sort of Automation technology or automated equipment, conveyors, robots, etc. • PLC Programming experience - whether it is certificates or hands-on experience editing PLC Logic Training: They will come to the plant for one full month of training upon their start date. This training will be full days Monday-Friday, and they will be put up at a hotel during this time. If they'd like to go home they can do it, however, they will need to do it on their own dime during training. After this, they'll spend two weeks in the field doing training, and afterward an additional two weeks back at Triangle's facility. Once they've done these 2 months of training, they should be ready to start going on their own service calls and learning the territory.
