Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing and executing complex accounting functions that support accurate financial reporting and operational decision-making. This position manages general ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals, amortization, fixed assets, and accounts payable and receivable, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and established accounting policies. The Senior Accountant performs and reviews monthly and quarterly account reconciliations, investigates and resolves discrepancies, and prepares corrective entries as needed. This role supports budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis by compiling and analyzing key metrics, preparing balance sheet reporting packages with meaningful commentary, and assisting with budget-to-actual reporting. Additionally, this position identifies and implements process improvements, leverages systems to increase efficiency, documents procedures, communicates changes to stakeholders, and provides guidance and oversight to other accounting team members as a subject matter expert.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions
Accounting Preparation & Support
Lead and perform general ledger functions including but not limited to amortization for prepaids, leases, various accruals, and management of fixed assets.
Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation.
Verify and/or determine codes and key data for invoices.
Research and escalate issues to achieve resolution.
Prepare and calculate significant and/or complex accounting processes.
Establish and communicate accounting policies by maintaining a thorough understanding of GAAP and new accounting guidance as needed.
Administer the corporate credit card program, sales commissions, and daily cycle counts.
Process accounts payable, receivable, fixed assets, and enter data as needed.
Account Reconciliations
Monitor and reconcile assigned accounts on a monthly and/or quarterly basis.
Identify, research, and resolve reconciling items, escalating items to achieve resolution.
Prepare and submit journal entries to correct items discovered during reconciliations.
Provide guidance to team members regarding account reconciliations.
Budget, Forecasting, & Reporting
Perform accounting and financial analyses to identify key trends and support critical estimates, such as accruals and reserves.
Compile and analyze data and key metrics against forecasts and goals.
Prepare balance sheet reporting packages with meaningful commentary.
Assist with annual budgeting, forecasts, and budget-to-actual reporting.
Project & Process Improvement
Actively identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Leverage systems and capabilities to identify new efficiencies.
Implement improvements and maintain/update documentation on assigned procedures.
Review, recommend, and/or lead process improvements, acting as SME as needed.
Communicate process changes to stakeholders.
Provide guidance and review work of other accounting team members as needed.

Experience
* 5+ years of proven experience in accounting, or a related field or equivalent experience and education to be considered.
* Experience in continuous improvements of software solutions, including but not limited to commissions, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and fixed assets.
Technical Proficiency
Proficiency in Google Suite/Google Workspace (Slides, Sheets, Calendar, Forms, Docs, Gmail) or related software.
Proficiency in CRM, ERP, and other related software. Salesforce, Netsuite (emphasis on saved searches), and RF Smart experience preferred.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
The Director, Corporate Accounting is responsible for the integrity of the company's corporate and consolidated financial reporting. We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to lead the HSE function across our enterprise. The HSE Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining company-wide health, safety and environmental programs to ensure compliance with all local, state/provincial, and federal regulations. This position will oversee a team HSE professionals, promoting a culture of safety excellence and environmental stewardship across the organization. This role will report to Trystar HSE Director.

In this role you will get to:
Leadership & Strategy
Lead, mentor, and manage a distributed team of HSE professionals across North America.
Execute a comprehensive HSE strategy aligned with company goals and regulatory requirements.
Serve as the primary HSE subject matter expert for HSE team and site management teams.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable Canadian regulations
Oversee audits, inspections, and corrective action plans across all locations.
Maintain and update company-wide HSE policies and procedures in alignment with changing regulations.
Program Management
Implement and maintain standardized safety programs, training materials, and systems across all sites.
Lead initiatives in incident prevention, emergency preparedness, and risk reduction.
Manage environmental programs related to air, water, and waste, including permitting, emissions tracking, and sustainability reporting.
Provide manufacturing & engineering technical input into process hazard studies and capital projects ensuring safety is at the forefront of processes & projects.
Assist in the development of the HSE budget for the site.
Attend site management and department meetings on regular basis and upon request.
Performance & Reporting
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure HSE effectiveness and continuous improvement.
Prepare and present regular reports to executive leadership on HSE metrics, incidents, and risk areas.
Support root cause analysis for significant incidents and ensure proper follow-up actions.
Culture & Engagement
Promote a proactive safety culture focused on employee engagement, behavior-based safety, and accountability.
Partner with HR and Operations to develop training and communication plans that reinforce EHS values.
Job Requirements:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety, Environmental or related field
Minimum 7-10 years of HSE experience in a multi-site manufacturing environment
Minimum 3 years in role leading HSE team members
In depth knowledge of U.S. regulations, and industry best practices
Experience managing cross-functional teams and driving organization change across multiple locations
Strong ability to communicate in written and oral formats with diplomacy and tact
Strong analytical and project management skills
Competent in using Microsoft Office products and systems
Ability to travel up to 50% to visit sites as needed
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated success in teaching others health and safety concepts and requirements
Professional certification as CSP
An aptitude for exercising independent thinking and reasoning
Previous success in working effectively in a cross functional environment
Skilled in leading others without formal reporting authority
Flexibility to work extended or later hours periodically to support second and third shifts
Ability to communicate in Spanish as a second language preferred

This includes responsibility over proper operation of equipment, driving operational efficiencies at the work site and ensuring accurate documentation related to the job is completed in a timely fashion.
This is our newest Field Service location in the region!
This will be a traveling position in the beginning as we build up our book of business in the area.
Note this position requires new hires to attend our two-week Academy training out of state. Expenses are covered by the company, and it is paid training.
