An innovative leader who has worked in bold strokes to get health care right for the patients and communities served by Allegheny Health Network (AHN), Cynthia Hundorfean is the CEO and president of the eight-hospital, $3.3 billion health care system based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Since she joined the network in 2016, Ms. Hundorfean’s extraordinary efforts to transform AHN have been recognized both regionally and nationally. In 2019, she was selected by Modern Healthcare magazine as one of the nation’s “Top 25 Women Leaders,” joining a distinguished list of executives whose work positively influences American health policy, care delivery models, and the industry as a whole.

Ms. Hundorfean has directed AHN’s impressive financial recovery. For the decade preceding her arrival, the network and its predecessor organization sustained substantial annual operating losses. But under her leadership, the network has now reported two straight years of positive operating and net income. In 2018, AHN also closed on $1 billion in long-term bond financing, the network’s first ever public financing vehicle and a strong indicator of the network’s solid financial foundation.

Allie Quick is the Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) for Allegheny Health Network. In her CPO role, she leads AHN's fundraising initiatives, philanthropic strategy, and the team of "mission multipliers" who secure philanthropic gifts to support AHN's priorities and needs. The AHN Development team does this by building relationships, sharing impact stories, and inspiring meaningful gifts to advance AHN's mission.Ms. Quick joined AHN in 2017 and has grown the fundraising program and Total Voluntary Support by tenfold in four years. The AHN team has raised nearly $110 million, increased the total donors and major gift solicitations by |36% and |30% YOY respectively, and maintained nationally competitive rates of ROI.With more than 25 years of fundraising experience, Ms. Quick previously served as the Senior Executive Director of Principal Gifts and University Leadership Engagement at the University of Pittsburgh during Pitt’s $2 Billion campaign. In that role she worked closely with the university leadership on developing and implementing the strategies for many of the university’s most generous and highest capacity donors and prospects. Ms. Quick earned her undergraduate degree (B.A.) from Hobart & William Smith Colleges, and a graduate degree in public policy and management (M.P.P.M.) from the University of Pittsburgh. She is pursuing a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in administrative and policy studies at the University of Pittsburgh. She serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Health Care Management and Journal of Education Advancement and Marketing. She is active in the Pittsburgh nonprofit community, currently serving as a board member for the Johnson Institute for Responsible Leadership at Pitt's Graduate School of Public & International Affairs and the United Way of Southwestern PA Women's Leadership Council, and as a certified foster parent with Bethany Christian Services.

Claire M. Zangerle is the Chief Nurse Executive at Allegheny Health Network (AHN) in Pittsburgh, PA. AHN is an integrated delivery network within Highmark Health. Comprised of 8 hospitals with more than 2,000 inpatient beds, 6 surgery centers, health and wellness centers, primary and specialty care clinics, and post-acute services, AHN employs approximately 17,500 people. AHN serves patients in 29 counties in Pennsylvania and portions of New York, Ohio, and West Virginia.
