Position Overview:The Press Operator is responsible for operating computer-controlled stamping presses, performing quality checks, assisting with machine troubleshooting, and supporting continuous production flow. Candidates must be safety-conscious, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate, monitor, and maintain machines such as presses, welders, cranes, and forklifts
Perform daily equipment checks and ensure safety protocols are followed
Feed materials and tooling into machines and assist with production changeovers
Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final quality inspections (PQI, SPC, etc.)
Record and enter production data into the company computer system
Identify and document production issues, collaborate with team to implement solutions
Assist with training of other operators as needed
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Ensure focus is maintained on press operations at all times
Package materials and maintain accurate part counts
Perform basic material handling duties as needed
Work with quality and maintenance teams to resolve production issues
Promote and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or GED required
Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety guidelines
Basic arithmetic and computer skills
Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team
Must have a reliable attendance record
Ability to work overtime as needed
Forklift experience preferred
Must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Work is performed in a non-climate-controlled facility
Exposure to oil, grease, dust, fumes, and loud noise
Must be able to lift, push, pull 10-50 lbs.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, pull, push, and use repetitive motion for up to 10 hours
Must be able to climb ladders and work near moving mechanical parts
