Duties may include, but are not limited to the following: * Conduct continuous surveillance of pool area for signs of swimmers in trouble and for violations of pool and safety regulations. * Monitor activities in swimming areas to prevent accidents; enforce rules, regulations and policies. * Respond quickly to emergency situations in the water or surrounding areas; perform water rescues and first aid. * Maintain a safe environment and take steps to prevent accidents by eliminating potentially hazardous conditions. * Provide courteous and professional service to program participants, facility users, City staff and the public. * Present professional appearance (including wearing appropriate uniform or attire) at all times. * Attend and participate at staff meetings and trainings. * Perform various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility; maintain accurate records. * Provide aquatic safety and instruction for guests. * Prepare incident & accident reports. * Perform other duties as assigned.
