The Picker/Packer is a crucial member of the manufacturing team. Under the direction of a supervisor, employee will properly gather, verify and pack items for shipment to various customers according to specifications. Records shipped items according to established procedures. Maintains constant communication with warehouse manager. Ensures procedures are met to ensure accuracy. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES · Ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensure that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations. · Commitment to the Company's policies, principles, and procedures and adheres the Company's procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), discipline/corrective action, and security. · Read customer pick/order tickets; · Accurately prepares orders for shipment to specified customers; · Organize orders on skids, wrap and weigh for shipment; · Label skids for proper delivery; · Completely and accurately fills out all required shipping documentation as required by business, customer or regulatory body; · Loads/unloads trucks under the direction of supervisor; · Assists in physical inventory control; · Packages goods to ensure safe and undamaged arrival at destination; · Understand and follow company quality policy; · Complete assigned work within given time frame, according to specifications and complete all documentation correctly in a timely manner; · Adhere to all company safety regulations; · Cooperate with other employees in the department to maintain a safe working environment; · Follow instructions as provided by supervisor; · Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area; · Provides information to allow a smooth transition for other coworkers to follow through with in-process work during or prior to a shift change as required. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: · High School diploma or GED; · Minimum 1 year experience in packaging or inventory control environment; · Ability to lift a minimum of 35 lbs.; · Have basic math skills; · Must have a fork lift certification; · Have the ability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, and walking through a large manufacturing facility. · Must have the ability to communicate verbally and written in English; · Ability to read schematics/blueprints; · Have excellent attendance; · Have good attention to detail.
