RESPONSIBILITIES: * Monitors and initiates response to security and emergency situations reported to the centralized Emergency and Security Operations Center (ESOC) to ensure the reliability and protection of the bulk electric system (generation, transmission, and distribution assets), water treatment plant, operations, and support services personnel and facilities across ALLETE and its subsidiaries. * Works independently for expeditious problem solving ensuring a safe and secure environment to ALLETE employees, tenants, contractors, vendors, guard services, emergency responders (local/county/regional/state law enforcement/fire and EMS) and the general public and by providing accurate information and assistance using telecommunication equipment (telephone, mobile radios, pagers, cellular telephones, etc.). * Provides support, direction, and guidance to assist with corporate-wide facilities alarms (intrusion detection and fire), along with access and egress. * Coordinates emergency response and initiates disaster recovery activities by notifying appropriate personnel and emergency response teams. REQUIRED EDUCATION: * High school graduate or equivalent. * Post high school courses, related to the security or law enforcement field preferred. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: * Two or more years of job-related work experience with security, law enforcement and/or emergency response protocols and processes. JOB DUTIES: * Fabrication of new butt welded and socket welded piping spools from ½ "to 24" piping. * Read prints, P&ID's and ISO's * Makes welding repairs to Refinery equipment as needed. * Installation of new piping spools * Removal of old piping spools * Hydro test piping spools * Fabricate and install piping supports and hangers. * Weld Carbon steel, Stainless steel and various alloys per piping specifications using GMAW and SMAW * Cut steel using a plasma cutter or torch. * Performs in unit repairs at customer location. * Follows all safety policies and procedures. * Complete necessary QC documents as required, Weld logs, red lines, hydro test forms. * Review work orders, retrieve necessary materials, inspect component materials for compliance. * Cut, machine, clean, prep all welding materials. * Work from prints and/or instructions with a minimum of supervision to weld less complex, sometimes repetitive parts and assemblies. * Responsible for quality control of parts produced. * Responsible for preparation, construction, and finishing of welds. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * High School Diploma or equivalent. * Must pass a 2" XXH pipe test in the 6G position using SMAW with RT profile for NDE. * A valid driver's license. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Excellent problem-solving skills. Provide manufacturing & engineering technical input into process hazard studies and capital projects ensuring safety is at the forefront of processes & projects. Assist in the development of the HSE budget for the site. Attend site management and department meetings on regular basis and upon request. Performance & Reporting Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure HSE effectiveness and continuous improvement. Prepare and present regular reports to executive leadership on HSE metrics, incidents, and risk areas. Support root cause analysis for significant incidents and ensure proper follow-up actions. Culture & Engagement Promote a proactive safety culture focused on employee engagement, behavior-based safety, and accountability. Partner with HR and Operations to develop training and communication plans that reinforce EHS values. Job Requirements: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety, Environmental or related field Minimum 7-10 years of HSE experience in a multi-site manufacturing environment Minimum 3 years in role leading HSE team members In depth knowledge of U.S. regulations, and industry best practices Experience managing cross-functional teams and driving organization change across multiple locations Strong ability to communicate in written and oral formats with diplomacy and tact Strong analytical and project management skills Competent in using Microsoft Office products and systems Ability to travel up to 50% to visit sites as needed ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated success in teaching others health and safety concepts and requirements Professional certification as CSP An aptitude for exercising independent thinking and reasoning Previous success in working effectively in a cross functional environment Skilled in leading others without formal reporting authority Flexibility to work extended or later hours periodically to support second and third shifts Ability to communicate in Spanish as a second language preferred
