Job responsibilities:
Guide inbound/outbound airplanes to and from the gate

Job Responsibilities:

Make and assist with reservations, preparation, and issuance of tickets and itineraries, computation of fares, issuance of refunds, baggage checking, and collection of excess baggage charges.
Patiently and empathetically handle customer concerns and complaints regarding ticketing and baggage handling, perform lost and found activities, initiate tracing procedures for lost passenger baggage, process claims for damaged or lost baggage and personal articles, prepare and maintain required records and reports of lost and found activities.
Knowledgeably answer inquiries regarding flight schedules, fares, and other questions as they arise, providing passengers with general travel information.
Meet aircraft at gate or loading area, perform duties in the departure lounges or at boarding gates when enplaning and deplaning passengers, check passenger tickets and documents for validity, and complete all necessary arrangements for accommodating passengers' reservations, standbys, and their luggage.
Determine flight close-out time and prepare, complete, and check various flight forms for accuracy and complete post-departure procedures.
Responsible for all flight movement messages between the gate, ground handling team, flight crew, and airport vendors.
Follow procedures for passengers with regards to the acceptance of Dangerous Goods.

Good communication skills: Passenger Service Agents must be able to communicate information and instructions verbally and/or via radio equipment effectively in a professional manner with the flight crew, gate agents, customers, and other ground crew to coordinate the movement of passengers and handling of equipment and baggage. Tolerate and answer repetitious questions from passengers in a friendly, outgoing manner. Ability to speak and be understood in giving directions/information to passengers verbally and/or via overhead announcement systems.
Computer skills: Passenger Service agents are required to use computer systems daily.
Critical thinking skills: Agent may be called upon to troubleshoot issues to assist passengers with reservation issues, process excess baggage fees correctly, verify required visa documentation, etc.
Basic math skills: Must be able to process payment transactions for flight/seat upgrades, excess baggage fees, etc.
Time management skills: Passenger Service agents must be able to manage their time effectively to complete tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Must report to work on a regular and timely basis.
Qualifications:
Be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma, GED, or work experience equivalent.
If work location is in the United States, must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986. If work location is in Canada, must have authorization to work in Canada as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) of 2001.
Must complete SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Good Communication Skills - Ramp Agents must be able to communicate information and instructions verbally and/or via radio equipment effectively in a professional manner with the flight crew, gate agents, and other ground crew to coordinate the movement and handling of planes, equipment, baggage, and cargo.
Basic math skills: Ramp agents may be required to calculate weight and balance calculations for planes.
Computer skills: Ramp agents may be required to use computer systems to track cargo and baggage.
Problem-solving skills: Ramp agents may be called upon to troubleshoot issues during loading and unloading.
Time management skills: Ramp agents must be able to manage their time effectively to complete tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
Be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma, GED, or work experience equivalent.
Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
If work location is in the United States, must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986. If work location is in Canada, must have authorization to work in Canada as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) of 2001.
Must complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security.
If required by customer or role access, be able to secure a Customs Seal through the respective governing agency.

A Duie Pyle is seeking a Part-Time Outbound Dock Worker to work in our Roanoke, VA terminal. Our freight handlers are responsible for safely transporting freight on and off trailers, and verifying related documentation via the electronic or manual systems. Prior forklift experience is preferred. Often, our dockworkers are asked to maintain a flexible schedule, including but not limited to day and night shifts, weekends and or holiday work.
Start time: 4:30 PM/5:00 PM Monday through Friday
Pay Rate: $20.35 per hour. Rate will increase to $21.35 after 12 months of employment
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Loading and unloading freight on trailers using appropriate equipment - forklift or electric pallet jack
Picking, staging, and securing freight inside trailers to insure safe transport
Utilizing document management system to track and monitor freight shipment locations throughout the terminal

Program Overview:
A. Duie Pyle's Leadership Development Program (LDP) is an accelerated training program designed to prepare and develop future leaders. LDP will take you on a six month progression where you will learn about operations, project implementation, brokerage, finance and other areas of our business while developing a strong understanding of the transportation industry.
Your career will begin at the closest Pyle terminal to your home. Here, you will learn about freight handling and our LTL, less-than-truckload, business. Over the course of the next six months, you will gain valuable hands on experience working various shifts on our dock and riding along in our trucks. You will learn how our operation works both during the day and at night. Additionally, you'll spend time in our corporate office engaging with and learning from our senior leadership.
Nearing the completion of the program, you'll receive your placement within our Pyle network and following successful completion you'll put your new acquired skills to work.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
* Shadowing Pyle leaders to develop leadership skills through on-the-job experiences, project assignments and formal training
* Understanding "teamwork" - learning how all team members and roles impacts the operation
* Participating in classroom style learning to develop industry and company knowledge, and develop professional relationships with high level leadership
* Performing several different positions and working on various shifts to gain hands-on experience
To be qualified for this position, you must possess the following:
* Prior work experience, preferably in a supply chain, logistics, transportation or similar field; combination of part-time work, internship, and or co-op in any field or industry will be considered
* Associates or Bachelor's Degree (any major) preferred; High School Diploma or GED required

* Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment
