Job Role Summary Program Overview: The Student Nurse Extern Program is offered to nursing students who have completed their junior year of an accredited 4 year BSN program. The Student Nurse Extern performs functions of a student nurse under the guidance of an Eskenazi Health RN. The externship is a 9 week program with a 28-hour-per-week commitment, which includes a mandatory four-hour lecture on Friday of each week. The program will begin on May 26, 2026 and end July 26, 2026. Attendance is required for the entire 9 weeks. Clinical Units: Acuity Adaptable, Burn Center, Critical Care, Emergency Department, Family Beginnings, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Mental Health Recovery Center, Operating Rooms and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit, and Primary Care Centers Applications: Applications must be submitted by February 1st, 2026.
