Mandrel Process Operator - Off Shift
Entry level job in Alliance, NE
Responsible for operating mandrel inspection and mold machines, set laser O.D. and mandrel lube operation. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Must be capable of following and meeting standard work requirements including but not limited to:
a. Selecting proper mandrel and set-up inspection and mold and/or weld machine, prepare tank with correct lube and set proper traverse setting
b. Operating mold machine, paying particular attention to any defects like cracks, excess rubber, alignment of mold and smoothness of outer surface
c. Measuring the O.D. of mandrel with O.D. and/or Pi tape or sliding calipers to determine if the mandrel is within the specification limits of diameter and ovality.
d. Preparing the lube tank, agitate the lubricant properly, and apply a consistent application of lubricant to the mandrel.
2. Operator will ensure quality by identifying and eliminating known defects by cutting out any known defects and splicing ends together.
3. Assure all necessary documents required are properly prepared and completed.
