Job Description:
Renders a patient insensitive to pain by the administration of anesthetic agents and related drugs and procedures to facilitate diagnostic, therapeutic or surgical procedures. Provides airway management, IV access and monitored anesthesia care services in areas throughout the facility. Responds to requests for pain-related consultation and services.
Principle Responsibilities
* Provides Anesthesia care
* Performs pre-anesthesia assessment and evaluation of patient, reviews orders and obtains informed consent.
* Assures that the patient is positioned in proper alignment and safely secured.
* Initiates anesthetic technique, which may include general, regional, local or sedation.
* Manages airway and cardiopulmonary status to maintain satisfactory physiologic condition.
* Facilitates emergence and recovery from anesthesia by administering medications, fluids and airway support.
* Discharges patient, providing summary of patient history and surgical events.
* Supplies Peri-Anesthetic and Clinical Support
* Provides this support to other patient care areas.
* Inserts peripheral and arterial catheters.
* Performs arterial punctures to obtain blood samples.
* Initiates or participates in CPR that involves airway maintenance, ventilation, tracheal intubation, pharmacological or cardiovascular support.
* Acts in consultation and implementation of respiratory and ventilator care.
* Collaborates with department team
* Makes decisions that result in desired patient/unit outcomes.
* Establishes priorities for self and others in organizing work.
* Acts as a resource to peers and other health related professionals.
* Assumes charge responsibilities as assigned.
* Precepts and mentors students and orientees as delegated.
* Helps to identify and initiate improvement processes.
* Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree graduate of accredited nursing program and
* Master's degree graduate of Nurse Anesthetist program
* 0 to 2 years working as Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
Preferred Qualifications
* 2 to 5 years working as Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
Licenses/Certifications
* Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire

Pay Range

Job Description:
Provides in-house obstetrical coverage of the labor and delivery unit, antepartum and postpartum units, and triage area.
Provides services including but not limited to emergency cesarean sections, spontaneous vaginal or operative vaginal births, postpartum tubal ligations, and rounding on antepartum, laboring and postpartum patients.
Provides overall care management of patients without an assigned physician, and those requiring emergency obstetric care.
Provides backup support and surgical assistance to staff Obstetricians as needed.
Provides education, consultation or intervention to patients (treatment plan) and their families.
Practices in a thoughtful manner including consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy and legal responsibilities.
Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management.
Cover GYN concerns out of the Emergency Department and basic gynecologic surgery skills are required (D&C and laparoscopy).

MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required
BE/BC with ABMS or AOA within Obstetrics and Gynecology upon hire
Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)

EDUCATION:
Graduate of a Registered Nurse program recognized by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Council.
Graduate of a nurse anesthesia education program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (or its predecessor, if applicable).
Successful completion of the certification examination administered by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of growth and development principles over the entire life span of the patient population to include neonate to geriatric.
Ability to observe, assess, and interpret patient age specific data, reaction, treatments, progress, and outcomes.
Knowledge of current anesthesia principles and practices, agents, equipment, devices, and techniques.
Knowledge of emergency medical procedures
Ability to communicate effectively with other professionals and the general public.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota required.
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist required.
Current licensure as an APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) in the State of Minnesota required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required per established policy.
Successful completion of medical staff office credentialing must be completed prior to working without a preceptor.
Successful completion of third-party payer credentialing must be completed prior to billing for services

Hourly Pay Range: $132.99 - $172.89 per hour;

EDUCATION:
Graduate of a Registered Nurse program recognized by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Council.
Graduate of a nurse anesthesia education program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (or its predecessor, if applicable).
Successful completion of the certification examination administered by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of growth and development principles over the entire life span of the patient population to include neonate to geriatric.
Ability to observe, assess, and interpret patient age specific data, reaction, treatments, progress, and outcomes.
Knowledge of current anesthesia principles and practices, agents, equipment, devices, and techniques.
Knowledge of emergency medical procedures
Ability to communicate effectively with other professionals and the general public.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota required.
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist required.
Current licensure as an APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) in the State of Minnesota required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required per established policy.
Successful completion of medical staff office credentialing must be completed prior to working without a preceptor.
Successful completion of third-party payer credentialing must be completed prior to billing for services
Pay and Benefits
Salary range: $276,619.20 - $299,868.40 per year
Pay may be determined by factors such as education, experience, skills, knowledge, location, and internal equity

Responsibilities:
Patient care at CentraCare-- St. Cloud Hospital, a Level II Trauma Center. CentraCare is a partner with the Orthopedic Department at UMPhysicians.
Trauma call is shared among orthopedic providers, and would be approximately 1 in 11.
Orthopedic surgeons' practice will be supported by CentraCare and University of Minnesota Physicians practice group. This support consists of access to academic activities eligible for CME collection and support staff, including midlevel practitioners.
Compensation:
Competitive compensation package, starting with a salary guarantee, then transitioning to a productivity model.
Starting pay begins at $518,310 per year; exact wage determined by years of related experience
Salary range: $518,310 - $838,846 per year
