This position is based primarily through Allina's partnership with Ridgeview Medical Center. Patients in the west metro have access to cardiovascular and vascular care close to home through a partnership with Abbott Northwestern Hospital's Minneapolis Heart Institute at Ridgeview Heart Center.
This unique partnership provides patients with one-on-one consultations with heart and vascular providers from the Minneapolis Heart Institute, including specialized imaging services at Ridgeview's Chaska and Waconia Campuses.
Ridgeview's Waconia Campus includes a life-saving cardiac catheterization lab - providing inpatient and outpatient diagnostic testing and interventional services.
Key Position Details:
This position will support inpatient, Cath Lab, and outpatient services. Inpatient and pre/post Cath Lab support will be provided at the Ridgeview Medical Center location in Waconia. Outpatient care will be provided at the Minneapolis Heart Institute at Ridgeview Heart Center Chaska location, Minneapolis Heart Institute at Ridgeview Heart Center Waconia (Professional Building) location, and two outreach locations at Lakeview Clinic and Glencoe.
* 1.0 FTE
* Four 10-hour shifts/week
* Weekend call - 6 weekends/year. Premium pay provided.

Job Description:
Provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations as part of a Physician/PhysicianAssistant team in accordance with the designated specialty. Works in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team.
Principle Responsibilities

* Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
* Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
* Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
* Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
* Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
* Refers for specialty care when determined.
* Consults with physician when patient needs outside of PhysicianAssistant scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
* Participates in health care team
* Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.

* Acts as liaison with outside agencies as needed.
* Collaborates with hospital staff by consulting and rounding on patients if designated by the specialty.

Required Qualifications
* Completion of accredited PhysicianAssistant or Nurse Practitioner program
* New grads will be considered with heavy ICU experience or rotations specific to cardiology
* Procedures/cardioversion interest necessary
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience as practicing Advanced Practice Provider preferred
* Experience in Cardiology preferred
Licenses/Certifications
* Licensed PhysicianAssistant - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire
* ACLS-BLS Tier 2 - Multisource required within 180 Days

As a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or PhysicianAssistant in our NICU you will be part of a team that includes 24/7 coverage by neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners and specialized nurses. You will work in our 36-bed NICU with state-of-the-art private and semi-private rooms, and will work alongside our multi-disciplinary team that includes a case manager, social worker, dietitian, developmental specialist, breastfeeding consultant, and others to help provide the best patient-centered care to our tiniest patients and their families.
Schedule
Primarily 12-hour shifts (with potential for 24 hr shifts), 8am-8pm, or 8pm-8am, day and night shifts, and every third weekend and holiday.
As a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or PhysicianAssistant at CentraCare your day will include:
Attending deliveries/delivery room management of all infants less than 35 weeks and other high-risk indications
Admissions including history and physical
Assessments and ongoing management of current NICU patients
Ground and air transports
Multidisciplinary care management team meetings
Provide phone/telehealth consultations to community providers in our referral area
Provide consultations to pediatric hospitalist service as requested
Update hand-off paperwork prior to morning hand-off
You will have the opportunity to participate in the following procedures:
Intubation
Umbilical line placement
Chest tubes
Arterial puncture
Arterial line placement
Ventilator management
Whole body cooling for HIE
Others as applicable
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following qualifications:
Current Minnesota licensure
Nurse Practitioners: 2 Years NICU experience preferred, Neonatal Certification
PhysicianAssistants: 2 Years NICU experience required or NICU Fellowship

Your Role
As a trusted primary care provider, you will:
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
Deliver preventative and wellness care, including routine checkups, screenings, and immunizations

What We're Looking For
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or PhysicianAssistant program
1+ year of clinical experience as an NP or PA preferred
Current or eligible Minnesota licensure
Active AHA BLS certification and DEA registration (or ability to obtain prior to start)
