Responsibilities
Investigates new claims by reviewing first reports of loss and supporting materials, determines the best first point of contact (claimants, customers, witnesses, etc.) to gather information regarding injuries or loss refers tasks to auxiliary units as necessary and posts file accordingly.
Establishes action plans based on case facts, best practices, protocols, jurisdictional issues and available resources.
Manages an inventory of property/casualty and disability claims (e.g. workers` compensation, general liability, commercial automobile, property, group benefits), evaluates compensability/liability and losses, and negotiates settlements within prescribed limits.
Establishes accurate loss cost estimates using available resources, special service instructions, and market protocols.
Confirms or denies coverage based on facts obtained during the investigation and advises policyholders as to proper course of action.
Makes effective use of loss management techniques (e.g. Immediate Contact Plan, L9 check, Disability Management, open end release, first call settlements) and other resources.
Updates files and provides comprehensive reports as required.
Qualifications
Effective interpersonal, analytical and negotiation abilities required.
Ability to provide information in a clear, concise manner with an appropriate level of detail.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
Demonstrated success in a professional environment; success in a customer service/retail environment preferred.

You will collaborate with multiple teams and functional areas across the organization in the planning-monitoring system.

Responsibilities:
Drive informed opinions on quarterly Plan reforecasts through conducting in-depth analyses to explain historical frequency and severity metrics and forecasting future loss trends.
Monitor, investigate, and communicate drivers of results, including plan, variance-to-plan, and trends, through both the scheduled and ad-hoc processes.
Ensure the timely delivery of planning and monitoring deliverables.
Effectively collaborate with cross-functional areas; appropriately interpret, collect, and generate sound and consistent perspectives.
Provide clear and concise communication of technical work to broad audiences, cross-functionally, and to senior leadership. Innovate better ways to depict and explain plan changes and monitoring insights.

The Position

What Is the Opportunity?
This position is part of a formal training program to advance to a Auto claim representative position. This position is intended to develop skills for investigating, evaluating, negotiating and resolving claims on losses of lesser value and complexity. Provides quality claim handling throughout the claim life cycle (customer contacts, coverage, investigation, evaluation, reserving, negotiation and resolution) including maintaining full compliance with internal and external quality standards and state specific regulations. What Will You Do?
* Completes required training program which includes the overall instruction, exposure, and preparation for employees to progress to the next level position. It is a mix of online, virtual, classroom, and on-the-job training. The training may require travel.

* Investigates each claim to obtain relevant facts necessary to determine coverage, causation, extent of liability/establishment of negligence, damages, contribution potential and exposure with respect to the various coverages provided through prompt contact with appropriate parties (e.g.. policyholders, accounts, claimants, law enforcement agencies, witnesses, agents, etc.) Takes recorded statements as necessary.
* Recognizes and requests appropriate inspection type based on the details of the loss and coordinate the appraisal process. Maintains oversight of the repair process and ensures appropriate expense handling.
* Refers claims beyond authority as appropriate based on exposure and established guidelines. Recognizes and forwards appropriate files to subject matter experts (i.e., Subrogation, SIU, Property, Adverse Subrogation, etc.).
* Reserving:
* Establishes timely and maintains appropriate claim and expense reserves. Manages file inventory and expense reserves by utilizing an effective diary system, documenting claim file activities to resolve claim in a timely manner.
* Negotiation/Resolution:
* Determines settlement amounts based upon appraisal estimate, negotiates and conveys claim settlements within authority limits to insureds and claimants. As appropriate, writes denial letters, Reservation of Rights and other necessary correspondence to insureds and claimants.
* May provide support to other parts of Auto Line of Business (e.g. Total Loss, Salvage, etc.) when needed.
* Insurance License:

**What Is the Opportunity?**
This position services a territory in a designated Massachusetts area. The selected candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate at their own expense to the assigned territory.
Massachusetts Appraiser License is preferred however not required.
This is an entry level position that requires satisfactory completion of required training to advance to Auto Appraiser position. This position is intended to develop skills for investigating, evaluating, negotiating and resolving claims on losses of lesser value and complexity. This position requires assistance with customer contacts, coverage, investigation, evaluation, payments, negotiation and resolution. **What Will You Do?**
+ Completes required training which includes the overall instruction, exposure, and preparation for employees to progress to the next level position. It is a mix of online, virtual, classroom, and on-the-job training. The training may require travel.
+ The on the job training includes practice and execution of the following core assignments:
+ Delivers consistent service quality throughout the claim life cycle, including but not limited to prompt contact, explaining the process, setting expectations, on-going effective communication, and follow-through and meeting commitments to achieve optimal outcome on every file.
+ Effectively manages work assignments and promptly travel to location of vehicle. Arranges to view vehicle if not readily accessible.
+ Utilizes technical expertise and information gathered to accurately determine physical claim value of claims using company recognized resources, estimating and evaluation software.
+ Establishes the physical damage claim value of assigned losses.
+ Prepares and documents accurate vehicle damage appraisals, actual cash and replacement values according to applicable regulatory and corporate guidelines.
+ When appropriate, negotiates with the repair facilities leveraging appropriate resources and achieve agreement on value including required payments.
+ For applicable Total Loss claims, determines settlement amounts, including applicable coverages and deductibles.
+ Negotiates and conveys claim settlements within authority and initiate payment to the customer, including total loss, rental reimbursement, etc.
+ Review and analyze coverage and applying policy conditions, provisions, exclusions and endorsements, and how jurisdictional issues impact the claim.
+ Physically inspect damage vehicle or review submitted appraisal to estimate damage utilizing technical expertise and information gathered to accurately deter fraud.
+ Effectively manages work assignments and promptly travel to location of vehicle. Arranges to view vehicle if not readily accessible.
+ Prepares and documents accurate vehicle damage appraisals, Actual Cash and Replacement values according to applicable regulatory and corporate guidelines.
+ Partners with the Auto Claim Professional throughout the life of the claim. Partners from initial investigation through final recovery to ensure appropriate claim resolution and pursuit of alternative recovery sources (e.g. Subrogation, TIS, etc.).
+ Provides all lines of business and departments, i.e. property, Boat and Yacht, Inland Marine, Public Sector, etc. with inspection assistance as needed, including Catastrophe response.
+ Effectively manages work assignments and tracks savings and referrals.
+ For claim types that meet the specific criteria as defined by Auto Product guidelines for complete claim handling (i.e. first notice of loss through the resolution/settlement and payment process) the following duties are concurrent with those listed above:
+ Reviews and analyzes coverage and apply policy conditions, provisions, exclusions, and endorsements pertinent to a variety of 1st party auto damage claims.
+ Conducts damage management including properly managing the repair process.
+ Develops, documents and continually updates a plan of action, including maintaining an effective diary to manage file inventory and bring the claim to resolution in a timely manner.
+ Communicates claim damage assessment following negotiation of value with repair facilities.
+ Obtains authorization to initiate payment to the customer/repair facility.
+ Must secure and maintain company credit card required.
+ In order to perform the essential functions of this job, acquisition and maintenance of Insurance License(s) may be required to comply with state and Travelers requirements. Generally, license(s) must be obtained within three months of starting the job and obtain ongoing continuing education credits as mandated.
+ In order to progress to Claim Representative, a Trainee must demonstrate proficiency in the skills outlined above. Proficiency will be verified by appropriate management, according to established standards.

The Position
Strategy, Capital & Engagement (SCE) team - LMI's hub for insurance business strategy, capital management, and cross-functional engagement - is seeking a high-performing Analyst to join our team. Reporting to a Director and working alongside two Associates, the Analyst will support key strategic initiatives across SCE's core mandates.
Responsibilities:
Analytical Support: Deliver comprehensive analytical support across key functions - including financial modeling, income and capital attribution process, and risk-return analytics within LMG's capital management framework; produce high-impact dashboards and reports for executive audiences; provide diligence support for M&A, risk financing, and other capital deployment initiatives.
Strategy and Engagement: Drive strategic collaboration across Corporate functions, U.S. Retail Markets (USRM), Global Risk Solutions (GRS), and international business units by managing action items and coordinating stakeholder requests.

The Position
LMI is actively searching for a Senior Analyst to join the Direct Lending team. This individual will be an integral member of the leveraged financed platform within the Global Credit Markets business. Dedicated to the Direct Lending strategy, this Senior Analyst will have responsibilities that provide for significant ownership of the end-to-end private credit investment process including sourcing, underwriting and ongoing portfolio monitoring of private loans.
Responsibilities:
Contribute as an integral member of the team to invest in private debt financings across the capital structure, with an emphasis on unitranche, first lien, and second lien loans
Support the investment process from start to finish, working closely with Team Leaders and Credit Research to conduct company and industry research, develop investment recommendations, and to manage loan positions post-closing of the initial investment
Contribute to the preparation of the investment committee memorandums (complete with financial projections) and support Team Leaders in the presentation of the team's investment recommendations to internal investment committees
Assist Team Leaders in the evaluation, structuring, and negotiation of economic and legal terms at both the term sheet stage and during final documentation
Actively monitor the performance of existing investments and maintain relationships post-close with key investment participants, including the Borrower / Sponsor and Agent; provide detailed updates to team members during scheduled portfolio reviews and as needed on an ad-hoc basis
Collaborate cross-functionally with additional LMI teams including Legal, Finance, Accounting and Risk Management to execute transactions and manage the portfolio
Engage externally with other market participants (e.g. other direct lenders and buyside investors, bankers, advisers, and third-party consultants) as part of the overall investment process
Support relationship coverage with private equity firms across the lower, middle, and large market, as well as other deal sources to help meet the team's origination targets
Qualifications
3+ years of experience, including a minimum of 1+ years in investing, preferably within the direct lending / private credit space
Previous experience in underwriting and monitoring credit investments
Proven ability to interact with, assess, and build relationships internally as well as externally, with Borrowers, Sponsors and other market participants
Previous experience with credit agreement documentation and/or other relevant legal documentation
Ability to identify company, industry, and market risks and opportunities, and to evaluate risk mitigation strategies
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with an ability to clearly articulate relevant key learnings and insights derived during the due diligence process
Self-starter with a willingness to be flexible and take on additional responsibilities depending on the needs of the business
Strong academic credentials and a demonstrated track record of successful work experience
Proven ability to work collaboratively in team environments
