This is an excellent role for someone who enjoys taking a project from an idea to a fully implemented product, independently determining the steps needed and the work required to turn a concept into reality. You will work to make it easy to control complex equipment using various software tools. This is a full-time position with flexible hours. Some work can be completed remotely, but it is frequently necessary to be in the office at our headquarters in central Iowa, collaborating with the team or working near/on the equipment itself. More about this position: * You'll translate requests from internal or external clients into potential projects and provide estimates to achieve the goals of the projects. * You'll write the code that controls our specialized agricultural equipment in the appropriate language(s), such as C#, C, Java, and others, on desktop, web, mobile, and embedded devices. * You'll work with RESTful services, OPC, MQTT, SQL, and cloud computing platforms. * You'll create algorithms to drive sophisticated machine behavior. * You'll assist with writing operating manuals, training internal stakeholders, and troubleshooting support on new software deployments. * Projects include full stack development to control, monitor, or gather data from our products, and potentially integrating client or third-party systems into our products to achieve seamless data flow. * The work environment will be a mix of independent, self-driven, tasks, as well as collaboration with a team of controls engineers, mechanical engineers, and technicians. Position Requirements: * 1 to 3 years of related experience working in a Shipping/Warehouse/Yard environment * High school diploma or equivalent, or any combination of education and experience * At least 1 year of recent relevant experience in any ERP system, Epicor would be a plus. * Working knowledge Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word and Excel. * Demonstrated accuracy of work, good organization skills, attention to detail as well as the ability to work as a team player. * Effectively communicate in English with warehouse personnel, management, and supervisors via two-way radio, email and in person. * Ability to read and interpret Shipping Authorizations and Daily Ship Schedules. * Maintains a Level B Equipment Operator Certification. * Must maintain a valid driver license. * Must be able to lift, push, pull and drag materials up to 50 pounds. * Position is in a warehouse environment which may be noisy, dusty, hot and/or cold and will require working outdoors in all conditions. PPE is required. Proper usage will be taught during training. * Reads and interprets work orders and daily production schedules. * When called upon, assist fitter in assembling pole assembly. Uses measuring tape, level, square, and angle finder to measure distances and angles. * Uses oxy-fuel cutting torch and plasma-arc torch for cutting steel. * Operates assembly line conveyor system to move tubular shafts into position for cutting on band saw and for fitting. ALMACO is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to work from our central service shop located in Nevada, IA and travel during peak service times. Peak travel times for the Heavy Equipment Mechanic are in the Spring, during planting and in the Fall during harvest. Service Technicians work on a team to complete preventative maintenance, repairs, and modifications of ALMACO combines and planters. You are an energetic person who is interested in traveling. You want to work independently with flexible hours and you provide support at the highest level. Wear protective goggles or welding hood to protect eyes from harmful rays. * Moves around round tube or formed shaft as necessary to get into proper position to accurately measure and assemble components described above including standing on elevated platform when necessitated by the size of the shafts. * Uses motorized grinders, motorized buffers, stone grinders, and drills to help assemble pole assembly according to prescribed specifications, codes and drawing. Wears protective face shield and safety glasses to protect eyes and face. * Adjusts welding machine to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures. Changes tips, ceramic cups, and electrodes in plasma torch as needed to achieve desired cutting results. * Finish weld various products of the unit to keep the product moving through the large pole department in a timely manner. Reads and interprets weld symbols. * Uses oxy-fuel torch to preheat parts prior to welding.
