In 1969, the year the first man stepped foot on the moon, Gordon founded Alpha Building Corporation with the vision of being part of that great endeavor.
Highlighting the steep decline of traffic and business downtown, the Pine Street garage and other city parking facilities logged years of plummeting revenues and registered a loss of about $50,000 in 1993.
In 1996 then-Mayor Thomas Goldsmith rolled the dice on a grand experiment to turn the city's fortunes.
1996: Roberts leases to Easton for five years for use as City Hall
Wells Fargo, the first block of S. Third Street, $1.1 million in 2002
The National, Northampton and S. Fourth streets, $1.1 million in 2011
2013: Easton seeks new, private owner
The city could move into the $26 million center early in 2015.
