Job Summary: Manages the development, implementation, growth, and logistics of programs and services for children and teens who are blind and have low vision.
Essential Functions:
* Oversee the planning and management of 2 camps- Technology and Adventure Camp and various youth outings to provide youth development opportunities.
* Manages programming development for EYE (expanding youth experiences) and other youth development programs.
* Oversee the Summer Transitional Employment Program, College Prep, Academic Support and College Exploration programs- secures and confirms participants and placements, ensures compliance with curriculum, and required reporting to state referrers. Ensure that all documentation is completed on program participants to ensure timely reimbursement by the state as applicable.
* Communicates program details to youth, families, and other parties, as needed. Answers questions and help clients problem solve program issues.
* Submits program reports to supervisor in a timely manner.
* Acts as liaison to referral sources. Schedules and assists with planning meetings with clients and referral sources, as necessary.
* Counsels youth regarding issues of work and school-related behaviors, attendance, etc.
* Participates in marketing, PR and social media for programs and activities.
* May participate in professional organizations and conferences.
* Participates in staff meetings and contributes to the formulation of program development and procedures.
* Follows criteria and procedures for quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of all programs.
* Prepares and maintains written curriculum for programs.
* Manages camp staffing, program personnel and volunteers.
* Coordinates youth programs including Technology Camp, Career Exploration activities, Adventure Camp and Kids in the Kitchen.
* Engage with external partners, donors, sponsors and service organizations such as Lions Clubs and Delta Gamma.
* Collaborates with Adaptive Technology, Orientation & Mobility, Braille, and ADL instructors to ensure comprehensive youth instruction.
* Maintains accurate youth records, attendance, and progress notes within Athena.
* Ability to communicate effectively with youth, families.
* Recruits, supervises, and mentors interns, seasonal staff, and volunteers involved in youth programming.
Additional Functions:
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
* For this position, a bachelor's degree is preferred, with experience working in youth programming, camps, child/youth development.
* Current knowledge of youth development programming.
* Culturally competent working with diverse staff, students, youth, volunteers and donors.
* Experience preferred in working with children and youth with a disability.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

Job Summary: University-trained vision rehabilitation therapist or a teacher of the visually impaired, to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to instruct clients of all ages in our rehabilitation department.
Essential Functions:
The essential functions of the vision rehabilitation therapist position consist primarily of, but are not limited to, the following:
* LITERACY - Braille/print/auditory media.
* VOCATIONAL EXPLORATION - Provide and interpret a computer-based vocational assessment test and prepare to share the results with the client and the vocational counselor, or someone from another funding source.
* ADAPTIVE TECHNOLOGY - Assist the adaptive technology instructor to provide training in computer applications, video magnification, refreshable braille and notetaker devices, and telephone apts.
* ORIENTATION AND MOBILITY - Provide indoor orientation and mobility as necessary.
* ADJUSTMENT TO BLINDNESS - Conduct small group classes in adjustment to blindness and provide general information to clients and families regarding visual loss and eye conditions.
* DAILY LIVING SKILLS - Teach and assist individuals and small groups in activities of daily living, including, but not limited to, meal preparation, eating techniques, personal management, medication management, and home management.
* OTHER DUTIES

* Assess and monitor clients progress.
* Write and implement goals that align with the clients case plan.
* Produce clear and concise monthly reports that reflect progress or concerns and share them with the client and the service providers.
* Participate in client staffing as needed.
* Participate in team planning and case management meetings.
* Compile and share resources with clients, families, team members, and community agencies.
* Collaborate with team members to organize community experiences that reinforce skills and build confidence.
* Attend training workshops and conferences and disseminate information to appropriate sources.
* Prepare for, or maintain, (ACVREP) certification.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
* A high school graduate or equivalent is required.
* Experience or education as an Orientation and Mobility (COMS) instructor is highly desired
* Eligible for ACVREP Certification.
* In-depth knowledge of principles, methodologies, tools, techniques, and equipment used for providing vocational and adjustment services to individuals who are blind/visually impaired.
* Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules and regulations that are applicable.
* Ability to work with students with additional disabilities and modify lessons when needed to ensure student/client success.
* Knowledge of physical and psychosocial adjustments to the loss of vision.

Oversee the planning and management of 2 camps- Technology and Adventure Camp and various youth outings to provide youth development opportunities.
Manages programming development for EYE (expanding youth experiences) and other youth development programs.
Oversee the Summer Transitional Employment Program, College Prep, Academic Support and College Exploration programs- secures and confirms participants and placements, ensures compliance with curriculum, and required reporting to state referrers.
