We're seeking an Instrument Planner to join our Operations team, with a focus on forecasting, set planning, and master data accuracy for surgical instruments. In this role, you will build and maintain instrument and set forecasts, partner with cross-functional teams, and ensure sufficient instrument & set availability to support product launches and ongoing clinical demand. You'll help establish efficient processes, maintain accurate planning data in SAP, and drive improvements that strengthen forecasting accuracy and long-term scalability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Forecasting & Inventory Management
Establish and maintain ABC SKU logic for instrumentation.
Build the instrument replenishment forecast from the ground up, incorporating fleet growth, component usage, and service level targets.
Integrate replenishment forecasts into safety stock and monthly planning processes.
Partner with planners to define first-time buy/NPI requirements for Alpha and launch sets.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Launch and lead recurring meetings with Product teams to:
Review forecasted quantities.
Capture feedback on complaints, damage rates, design changes, and unique/non-standard components.
Partner with International Marketing to establish target thresholds for in-market safety stock, including return/service processes for damaged parts.
Collaborate with Sales Ops to create processes for recovering stock removed from sets to prevent shortages and unnecessary orders.
Work closely with Demand Planning to ensure instrument and set forecasts align with implant demand and case forecasts.
Set Planning & Master Data
Execute the set planning process by:
Maintaining accurate master data in SAP & Excel.
Managing NPI conversions.
Calculating set requirements and maintaining forecast models.
Ensure accurate “do not buy” signals and SAP order signals are maintained, so the Purchasing team can execute confidently.
Maintain accurate records and databases related to set inventory and planning forecasts.
Continuous Improvement
Support ongoing initiatives to improve planning efficiency and reporting accuracy (e.g., safety stock logic, master data integrity, automation of forecasts).
Drive enhancements to forecast models and processes to reduce manual work and improve decision-making.
Participate in cross-functional projects that strengthen end-to-end planning, replenishment, and inventory management.

You can work onsite at our San Diego, CA office. Heads up: intern housing, relocation, and housing stipends aren't provided, so you'll need to have your living situation and transportation sorted out.
Pay range: $28 - $35 per hour, based on your class standing and operational function.

We're on the lookout for someone who can help us manage and negotiate a variety of sales contracts-making sure everything is buttoned up, compliant, and in the best interest of our business. Key Outcomes:
Review, draft, and negotiate contracts for commercial, government, and public health customers.
Be the go-to expert for contract terms and offer guidance to colleagues and business partners.
Research pricing and terms, and resolve those “wait, what?” moments with finance and customer service.
Build strong relationships with internal teams and help refine processes to keep us moving forward.
Prepare proposals, agreements, and RFPs, and occasionally flex your cross-functional teamwork muscles.
Do you have what it takes?
You'll thrive in this role if you're detail-oriented, a natural collaborator, and can keep your cool when things get busy. You'll need to juggle priorities, communicate clearly (even when the coffee runs out), and problem-solve like a pro. We value curiosity and a positive attitude-if you can make contract law sound interesting at a party, you'll fit right in.
Additional qualifications and information:
Bachelor's degree required; Paralegal certificate, MBA, or advanced degree is a plus.
2-4 years of experience in a corporate, legal, or contracting department.
Experience with sales contracts in healthcare? That's a gold star.
Skilled in Microsoft Word, and willing to learn other Office apps. Salesforce and Ironclad experience are nice-to-haves.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
The annualized base salary range for this role is $71,000 - $109,500 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
