Weld or knot new wire new supply to trailing end of previous order (if applicable). Thread machine by pulling wire or strands through guides, tension rollers, and/or stranding or pre-forming heads. Secure, install and adjust the proper dies, stranding/pre-forming head, crushing rollers, post-former and carboloy rings as required by the order. Set the proper lay according to order specifications. Adjust tension and die pressure at the beginning of the order and as required throughout the entire order. Start lube pump as required by the order. Inspect and replace tensioning devices as needed. Inspect the set-change, including cutting a strand for helix-height measurement before requesting approval from the production supervisor. As a Forging Robotics Press Operator, you will be instrumental in the forging process within the automotive manufacturing industry. Your primary responsibility will be to operate and oversee robotic press systems to shape metal components with precision and efficiency. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Material Handling: Tagging all materials and separating them by lot numbers to ensure traceability and organization. Quality Assurance: Perform regular quality checks, including visual and dimensional inspections, at appropriate intervals for both hot press and cold press operations. Tool Usage: Utilize hand tools and power tools as required for setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks. Shot Blast Machine Maintenance: Monitor shot blast machines, replenishing media when necessary and removing old media as required to maintain optimal performance. Manual Sorting and Stacking: Hand-sort parts and stack materials as required, contributing to the efficiency of the production line. Additional Skills (Preferred): Experience in warm and cold forging processes is advantageous. Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical issues and using various gauges for quality control purposes. Job Description The Sanding and Robot Operator - 3rd Shift position sets up, operates and maintains multiple robotic sanding cells as trained and instructed to meet or exceed defined production targets. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned) Operates multiple robotic sanding cells with the loading and unloading of helmets to maximize robot time sanding while also ensuring quality. Identify helmet models to be sanded and correctly set the machine fixturing to ensure quality sanding. Load and unload helmets from the fixturing proplerly. Organize and maintain the machine fixturing so that they can be easily found as needed. Operate the computer controls of each cell to select the proper program for the paint color being sanded. Load the robot sanding tool as needed with the proper sand paper grit per the program running. Change the interface pads and backup pads on each cell running as needed to maintain quality sanding. Identify and communicate issues quickly to the GrayMatter Team using the Hot Line and the Team Viewer communication tool. Communicate issues immediately to Team Leader and Supervisor. Observes all safety rules and regulations. Exercises care and good judgment at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
