As a Care Counselor, you'll play a vital hands-on role in supporting our clients on their recovery journey. Drives clients in a company vehicle to outings, appointments, and errands. Maintains and communicates client level system; informs licensed staff of related concerns. Leads or co-leads therapeutic groups for residential, PHP, or IOP clients, including evening and weekend rotations. Benefits Specialists are responsible for managing the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-and long-term disability, 401(k) plan, and leaves of absences. The Milieu Manager is responsible for assuring that the facility runs smoothly, supplies are being ordered, concerns are communicated to the home office and for managerial oversight of Mental Health Technicians. The Milieu Manager consults with the Program Director and the home office regarding needs/duties to be completed and works closely with the Program Director when any issues arise. The Milieu Manager is also responsible for assuring that all activities at the facility are within the Discovery Behavioral Health's Mission. Essential Job Functions: * Assure that the facility is fully stocked, that needed supplies are ordered in advance, and manage related expenses to assure that unnecessary spending is not occurring. Provide feedback to the home office regarding any facility issues on a weekly basis. * Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the facility and facility vehicle. Will schedule facility or vehicle maintenance upon obtaining approval from the Program Director and/or Home office. * Perform/assign safety drills, completing weekly checklists to assure medication administration guidelines are met and assure facility is in compliance with licensing standards and Joint Commission. * Over-sight of Education Liaison/Case Manager to ensure compliance with educational or vocational requirements. * Complete and approve credit card expense reports and ensures timely submission. * Oversee the patient intake process, complete related paperwork, review and obtain signatures on all consents at the time of admission, send all necessary information to the Home office, assign additional duties to Mental Health Technicians as necessary. Oversee the patient discharge process and assign duties to counseling staff as necessary. * Participate in treatment team meetings on a weekly basis, keep notes and create the treatment team overview notes for staff review. Record keeping of treatment team attendance. * Run groups when necessary. Provide oversight of groups being led by Mental Health Technicians and lend assistance if needed. * Manage patient charts, ensuring new charts are opened when necessary, charts are audited and closed in a timely manner. * Responsible for the hiring process of new Mental Health Technicians, Nurses and Diet Technicians, with assistance of the Program Director; responsible for the completion of related paperwork and documentation; assist in the training of these new staff. Participate in and conduct staff performance reviews. * Manage staff performance reviews. Schedule to ensure that all shifts are covered, and staff are not entering into overtime hours. Oversee timekeeping system to ensure that all time cards are submitted to payroll in a timely manner and report any error or corrections to payroll as soon as possible. * Possess a complete and working knowledge of all staff job functions to be able to help, support, and, encourage team members. The Clinical Director oversees all clinicians and directs all clinical treatment. Works with the CEO and Risk Manager in meeting expectations and directives of the Governing Board. Serve on the executive leadership team that directs strategy, operations, policy and practice standards. The Clinical Director supports the admissions department to ensure that patients are appropriate for admission and are placed at the appropriate levels of care. The Clinical Intake Coordinator is responsible for coordinating admissions with the admissions' department and the facility. They also will support the patient and their support system through the onsite assessment and admission process. Essential Job Functions: * Works closely with the admissions' department to schedule admission times, schedule tours and assessments, and coordinate the intake process with the program. * Oversee the patient intake process, complete initial assessments with the patient and support system, complete related paperwork, and send all necessary information to the home office. * Guide patients through the pre-admission medical standard procedure, as needed. * Based on the initial assessment, provide a preliminary diagnosis and communicate this to the patient's assigned therapist and registered dietitian for each patient. * Support the patient and support system during their first week in the program to ensure a smooth transition and answer any questions. Essential Job Functions: * Collaborates with Clinical Director and/or Program Director and other professional staff to help develop comprehensive program of therapy, evaluation and treatment. * Responsible for delivering appropriate topic to scheduled groups. * Responsible for completing all group notes immediately after leading each group. * Document all services provided in clients medical record. * Knowledge of company's policy and procedures, DMHAS and Joint Commission standards and regulations. Adhere to all regulations and maintain accurate and timely client charting in compliance and according to the clinical guidelines. * Periodically participates in staff meeting, providing training with regard to therapeutic services and, mental health topics. * Performs other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director including but not limited to meeting with clients individually for support. Core Competencies: * Ability to run groups effectively AEB providing a check-in, engaging all members, and providing structure to group format. * Able to show effective writing and communication skills AEB documentation review, email timeliness, and verbal communication with staff and patients. Add timeliness with documentation. * Ability to support the milieu, following line of sight guidelines, engaging patients in program, and able to provide redirections as needed. * Ability to embrace and exude the Discovery Mood and Anxiety Program mission, check emails at minimum 2x a week (every shift for full time and part time employees) and have visited the DMAP SharePoint site at least once per month. METRIC: Complete all tech trainings, employee file up to date, policy system is up to date, visited the DMAP SharePoint at least 2x, and checks emails 2x a week (every shift for full time and part time employees). * Able to check in with patients and provide appropriate observations AEB line of sight, 1:1 safety observation when indicated, bathroom observations when indicated, and check in with patients that show rapport has been built. Knowledge, Education, & Experience: * Bachelor's degree, preferred * Experience working in behavioral healthcare * Must understand the therapeutic process, understand confidentiality laws, and have strong knowledge of professional ethics. As a Care Counselor , you'll play a vital hands-on role in supporting our clients on their recovery journey. You'll work alongside therapists, dietitians, nurses, and other care professionals to help implement treatment plans and create a safe, encouraging environment where clients can grow. Always maintains each client's physical and psychological safety, including assigned tasks (e.g., taking and recording vital signs, weights, and meals, and reporting results to nursing/physician). Completes accurate documentation of observations and notifies supervisor of any unusual findings (e.g., change in vitals, weight fluctuations, or meal refusals). Documents client progress per procedure. Assists with basic first aid as directed by RN/LVN staff and follows all appropriate documentation protocols. Ensures documentation reflects changes in client condition; notifies nursing and interdisciplinary team as required. Provides 1:1 assistance to clients in crisis per their care plan and staff direction. Supports nutritional needs as outlined by the nutritionist and treatment plan. Eats meals and snacks with clients as part of modeling and recovery support. Communicates with clients and their families respectfully and clearly; involves licensed staff as needed. Drives clients in a company vehicle to outings, appointments, and errands. Maintains and communicates client level system; informs licensed staff of related concerns. Leads or co-leads therapeutic groups for residential, PHP, or IOP clients, including evening and weekend rotations.
