About the Role
As the Registered Dietitian at Alsana, you will be responsible for providing nutrition therapy to clients of all genders with eating disorders and co-existing medical conditions and psychiatric diagnoses. You will work as a member of the interdisciplinary team (IDT) with the client, their support team (therapist, psychiatrist, physician, family/friends) to provide the most effective and efficient care possible.
Responsibilities
Completes the initial and weekly client nutritional assessments, creates therapeutic and individualized client meal plans, and conducts individual and group sessions with client based on level of care.
Works closely with chefs to aid with education and meal plan accuracy for clients.
Leads regular nutrition psycho-education groups focusing on the Alsana nutrition philosophy of balancing nourishment and pleasure to help clients restore a positive relationship with both food and body.
Manages movement activities according to programming, under the direction of the lead RD, and provides each client with individualized movement goals, adapted weekly.
Provides guidance and assists clients with real-life nutrition tasks such as meal planning, grocery shopping menu ordering, kitchen skills, and cooking.
Provides regular weekly email updates to client's outpatient referral treatment team.
Supports the culinary team in developing quality measures for food served, striving for 90% excellent ratings in food-related perception of care surveys.
Actively engages in on-going education related to nutrition therapy for the eating disorder population.
Assumes other duties as assigned by the Director of Clinical Services, nursing, program director, or lead RD.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited program and registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
1+ years' experience working as a Registered Dietitian; ideally with eating disorder clients, preferred.
Experience working as an active member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
Strong interest in eating disorder or behavioral health nutrition care.
Pay range:
$80,000.00 plus sign-on bonus

The Role

What You'll Do:
As a Primary Therapist at Alsana, you will provide consultation, case management and therapy on complex cases to individuals who have and are affected by serious eating disorders. You will assess clients, determine referral needs, provide group therapy, family therapy and group education and formulate and implement treatment plans.
Performs, interprets, and provides feedback to clients on various assessments relevant to eating disorder treatment (e.g., psychosocial assessment, suicide risk assessment, core assessment packet)
Provides individual therapy sessions for clients, utilizing appropriate interventions adapted to the needs of the client.
Completes appropriate and thorough documentation within established time frames, including progress notes for individual and family sessions, weekly therapy assessments, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
Communicates with outpatient team to provide updates on client progress and to provide continuity of care.
Attends weekly training and individual/group supervisions as assigned.
Assists direct care in providing observations for clients, managing milieu conflict, and supporting clients.
Participates in meals and snacks with clients as assigned.
Provides crisis stabilization for clients in the milieu who may become de-escalated at times.
Provides “check-ins” with clients as needed based on the needs of the client and the appropriateness of the check-in.
Provides “on-call” coverage during assigned times.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Master's degree in social work, Clinical Counseling, or other relevant health related discipline (ALC, PLPC, LMSW, LCSW, ACSW, LPC, PhD, LMFT, AMFT)
Two years' recent related experience working with eating disordered clients or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Eligible for registration with relevant professional association
Ability to educate and provide consultation to clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Comprehensive knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis and professional practice guidelines for the treatment of various disorders
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant Acts such as Mental Health Act, Freedom of Information Act, pertinent regulations, policies and procedures, and other statutory duties

The Registered Dietitian is responsible to consult in a collaborative fashion with the Director of Dietary Services and the treatment team to ensure the best standard of nutrition and dietary services are occurring. The RD completes a Dietary Assessment when indicated and directed by the treatment team. The RD meets with all Outpatient clients weekly, conducts Nutrition Education Groups and Dietary Experiential's and oversees the responsibilities of the Diet Technician.

Essential Job Functions:
* Conduct Dietary Intake within one business day of admit, collect weight and height of client and calculate BMI/IBW for client chart.
* Meets with client upon admit establishing therapeutic relationship.
* Initial, weekly, and discharge sessions with clients. Daily written documentation of each session completed in appropriate time frame.
* Charts each client's progress throughout the treatment experience, making sure that daily progress notes reflect the goals within the treatment plan.

The Role
As the Licensed Vocational Nurse at Alsana, you will provide direct nursing care that includes and is not limited to medication administration, phlebotomy, and documenting all nursing related assessments in the EMR. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the needs of Alsana clients.
Responsibilities
Conducts daily physical and mental status assessments and documents them accordingly.
Completes health questionnaires and accurately document in the medical record.
Administers medication, observes for side effects and client response documenting observations in the medical record.
Creates and maintains weight and vital signs in EMR and checks daily for accuracy. Rechecks any documented weight or vital sign that is unusual and documents.
Participates in client observations to promote abstinence of behaviors and safety.
Coordinates with pharmacy for medication deliveries and questions regarding medications. Faxes additional information as needed for payments according to the HIPAA protocols and facility policy.
Monitors the nutritional and dietary needs of the clients and reports non-compliance with the plan of care.
Organizes, coordinates, and follows up on all consultations with physicians / medical personnel for tests, etc. and provides the appropriate diagnosis for laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic testing.
Completes all Alsana Nursing Assessments, Care-plans, S.O.A.P Notes, Admission Note, Discharge Notes, Noc Shift note and accurately documents in the medical record. All LVN Notes to be co-signed by the Nurse Manager and/or RN.
Administers first aid according to facility policy, including all appropriate follow-up documentation.
Obtains insurance updates to get precertification for medications and other coverage.
Establishes and maintains good communication with clients, families, and staff. Participates in “hand-off” communication from shift to shift.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
IV certification within 30 days of start date
Valid license as a Vocational Nurse
1+ years hospital based clinical experience preferred.
Current CPR Certification preferably through the American Heart Association

* Informing personnel (i.e. UR, psychiatry, dietician) of new admissions when appropriate.
* Administering and documenting vital signs, CIWAs, collects data for fall assessments/precautions, seizure precautions, suicidal/homicidal assessments, pain scales, anxiety scales, craving scales, standard and infection control precautions adding co-signers as necessary.
* Observation, documentation, audit functions, education, and record keeping of all observed/inventoried/destroyed/prescribed medications.
* Assessment of patients with addiction and mental health conditions and assisting in ascertaining clinical medication management with Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Psychiatrist, and Medical Doctor.
* Administering medications via oral, sublingual, inhalation, auricular, topical, intramuscular, subcutaneous, vaginal, and rectal routes as ordered.
* Entering medication orders into the electronic medical record.
* Manages the Medication Administration Record, documenting administration, efficacy, and first response.
* Collaborates with staff in assessing patient, family age-specific nursing needs and develops plan of care for complex high-risk patients.
* Provide assistance to Utilization Review in communicating pertinent nursing information.
* Designs teaching programs for patients/families and provides assistance to staff in program implementation.
* Work closely with physicians to provide education and counseling for clients and other organizational health care providers on optimal use of medicines (e.g., proper use, avoidance of over medication).

* Oversees the medication management system that includes but not limited to, medication planning, storage, ordering and transcribing, administration, monitoring and evaluation.
* Verifies the integrity of and controls medications brought into the organization by the client, their families, and licensed independent practitioners.
* Systemically collect, record and analyze data and other relevant interactive social systems, including mental status, special precautions (suicidality, homicidally, elopement); physical problems/medical acuity (withdrawal and nutritional needs); and ethnic concerns (social, religious, or cultural needs).
* Uses assessment data to identify problem list and other interactive social systems.
* Intervenes as guided by the treatment plan to implement appropriate interventions that promote, maintain, or restore physical and mental health, prevent illness effect rehabilitation, and restore developmental progression.
* Provides health education for patients through individual and group interactions.
* Recommends special precautions, as needed.
* Evaluates the response of the patients to interventions in order to revise the plan, including discharge criteria.
Knowledge, Education, & Experience:
* Must be a graduate of an approved vocational nursing program with a current licensure from an appropriate state licensing board in good standing.
* Preferred: Experience as a staff nurse, preferably in the field of chemical dependency and/or behavioral health.
* Knowledge of industry standards: organization, theory, principles, and research processes, accreditation and regulatory standards, ability to assess clinical care requirements based on nursing principles, scope of practice.

The Role
As the Registered Dietitian at Alsana, you will be responsible for providing nutrition therapy to clients of all genders with eating disorders and co-existing medical conditions and psychiatric diagnoses. You will work as a member of the interdisciplinary team (IDT) with the client, their support team (therapist, psychiatrist, physician, family/friends) to provide the most effective and efficient care possible.
Responsibilities
Completes the initial and weekly client nutritional assessments, creates therapeutic and individualized client meal plans, and conducts individual and group sessions with client based on level of care.
Works closely with chefs to aid with education and meal plan accuracy for clients.
Leads regular nutrition psycho-education groups focusing on the Alsana nutrition philosophy of balancing nourishment and pleasure to help clients restore a positive relationship with both food and body.
Manages movement activities according to programming, under the direction of the lead RD, and provides each client with individualized movement goals, adapted weekly.
Provides guidance and assists clients with real-life nutrition tasks such as meal planning, grocery shopping menu ordering, kitchen skills, and cooking.
Provides regular weekly email updates to client's outpatient referral treatment team.
Supports the culinary team in developing quality measures for food served, striving for 90% excellent ratings in food-related perception of care surveys.
Actively engages in on-going education related to nutrition therapy for the eating disorder population.
Assumes other duties as assigned by the Director of Clinical Services, nursing, program director, or lead RD.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited program and registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
1+ years' experience working as a Registered Dietitian; ideally with eating disorder clients, preferred.
Experience working as an active member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
Strong interest in eating disorder or behavioral health nutrition care
