Central Control Operator (CCO) Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently entering, exiting, and diverting trains through Automatic Train Control (ATC), power distribution and communication systems. This position is responsible for the day to day support of customer service through effective communications, maintenance hastelling, balancing of headway's, buildups and reductions; effective utilization of emergency and failure management strategies; support of maintenance through efficient implementation of the Work Area Permit Process while adhering to all safety rules, SOP's and all other appropriate regulations. Primary Responsibility: * Through interaction with the ATC system, manages the assembly of rail vehicle and ensures that the scheduled trains are correctly configured and available for movement into revenue service. * Support all revenue activities in accordance with the applicable service plan, to include: service levels, radio communications, monitoring applicable Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems, spare train utilization, troubleshooting, and any other functions which affect or could affect the delivery of revenue service. * Is responsible for the power configuration through interaction with the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for normal service, or maintenance and emergencies activities. Implements and/or coordinates the safe and efficient execution of power distribution through use of areas, work permits, occupancy permits and clearances in accordance with existing rules and procedures. * Will use audio, video electronic devices, and office equipment to perform tasks - computer, copier, phone, etc. Will interact/collaborate with employees, contractors and other personnel involved in Operations and Maintenance. Knowledge and Experience: * Associate degree from an accredited college or university in a technical field * Advanced level of skills in Microsoft Office Applications and Windows Operating Applications * Ability to work in a fast paced-high environment as well as ability to deal with different levels of stress and work within defined safety rules, polices, and procedures in normal and emergency operations. Conditions: This is a safety sensitive position that supports a 24/7 operation and is subject to random alcohol and drug testing. The CCO must meet physical requirements of position, must complete entry examination, must be able to distinguish colors, and pass a 10-year(s) background check.
